We shall get the Midnight reveal in the Summer of 2025. Hopefully that comes with playable Forest Trolls.
I have recently been playing the remaster of Warcraft II.
Itâs easy for Blizzard to add green-skinned trolls with red paint over their faces, heck, they donât even need to use the muscular Forest Troll model. Itâs less work than doing the remasters, so thereâs no logic behind the choice of not making some kind of Forest Trolls actually playable.
They added 300 flavors of Elves but canât deliver a single skin color for trolls. Itâs so easy to do that it hurts. We can play Farraki or âdarkerâ trolls, but not Revantusk.
I have to admit, that I really want to play with the muscular Forest Troll model.
So as I mentioned early in the thread, the Heartlands novella established that Hammerfall was the new home/capital of the AU Magâhar. However with how it currently isnât shown in-game, I got to wondering if we could end up other playable races in that state, where they have a established capital in lore, but the in-game location hasnât been updated to reflect it.
Now when we first meet the Revantusk tribe their capital is Revantusk Village, however with the conquest of JinthaâAlor in Cataclysm, I canât help but wonder if theyâve changed it. Thus if we just get the Revantusk Tribe as our avenue for playable Forest Trolls, I canât help but wonder if theyâll end up like the Au Magâhar, where they lore capital isnât properly reflected in-game yetâŚ
Though if we have the Revantusk conquer ZulâAman, then I wouldnât mind if they made ZulâAman their new capital, with JinthaâAlor, and Revantusk Village as their other settlements.
In thinking about what classes the Taunka would have, my mind ended up drifting to the other races I would like playable and what classes they could have. Thus I made the following breakdown for Forest Trolls.
Evergreen: Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rouge, Warrior, and Warlock.
Lore: Shaman.
Potential classes: Monk (open to all but the Dracthyr), Death Knight (They could easily be put into the Allied Race Death Knight intro as Bolvar was robbing the graveyards of Horde and Alliance champions for this new generation), Druid (Their Darkspear and Zandalari kin can be druids), Paladin (We do have Troll Paladins with the Zandalari, so they could have been taught by them or something).
Not Likely: Demon Hunter, Evoker.
I expect High Elves and Forest Trolls will be central in Midnight, and may even finally be an Allied Race (or new customizations) for the respective factions. No better time than this, anyway.
Personally looking forward to an HD redesign of the Forest Trolls.
That pairing makes sense but I donât know if Blizzard would have three playable races that can look exactly the same. After all both Blood and Void Elves can give themselves the High Elf look.
That would be fantastic.
they also need mountain trolls and swamp trolls
Per Exploring Azeroth: Islands and Isles Dazarâalor is a more peaceful place, with the Farraki and Amani no longer harassing merchants. Furthermore Thalyssra is able to walk through both enclaves, which she noted are much friendlier places.
Let that sink in, the Amani let a leader of the Horde walk through their enclave with no issue.
Thatâs the most positive relation between the Horde and the Amani in years.
Damn.
Thatâs a great indication of things in Midnight involving forest trolls potentially.
Oh yeah, Iâm very excited at that prospect.
You know, I feel that November has been a good month for Forest Trolls. The Warcraft 2 Remaster served as a reminder to people that Forest Trolls fought under the Horde banner in the Second War, with the video of the announcement even showing a few fighting against the Alliance. And then Exploring Azeroth: Islands and Isles has the Amani, who were so pissed at the idea of the Horde allying with the Zandalari that they went hostile over it in BFA, let a leader of the Horde walk through their enclave with no issue.
I canât help but feel there is some story there, and I canât wait to see it.
I thought of a possible Forest Troll storyline for Midnight and decided to share.
We get a Revantusk - Amani rivalry, with each tribe trying to recruit the other Forest Troll tribes to their side, but Void related matters stopping them from outright escalating into a full blown war.
Like say we have the Revantusk backed up the Smolderthorn and Firetree tribes (their Blackrock allies joining the Horde, swaying them) and the Amani backed by the Witherbark, and Mossflayer, and when things are looking heated, the Vilebranch reveal their allegiance to the Void and strike.
We then have the Forest Trolls tribes uniting against the attack, while backed by the Horde, repel it, and then decide to unite as one. The other tribes then decide that the Revantusk, who have moved to the future beyond their past hatred, shall guide the way forward.
That way we get more Forest Troll tribes within the Horde, prevent the Amani from being villains again, and keep the Revantusk from being forgotten.
Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Forest Troll enthusiasts.
Ogres and Forest Trolls are the two races the Horde shouldâve gotten a long time ago but are still missing. This needs to happen sooner rather than even later.
+1 Playable Forest Trolls.
Cool concept. Getting all the tribes involved would help with giving the player options for customizations/identity.
Personally, I see a good chunk of the Amani joining the Void to finish off the Blood Elves and the ones who are horrified by that join up with the Ravenentusk.
Amani Resistance/Refuges as well as the Blood Elves make peace as the Raventusk serve as a Go-between. With Talangi and Rokhan having heavy involvement as well. Making a good final climax to the Amani/Silvermoon story.
What I still wait to see in the game when I create a new character.

Just replace Frostborn Dwarf by Vrykul, Leper Gnome by Mogu and Vrykul by Saberon and my dream will be complete.
Broken, Ethereal, Vrykul, Furbolg, Mogu and Ankoan/Jinyu for the Alliance.
Ogre, Taunka, Saberon, Forest Troll, Gilgoblin and Sethrak for the Horde.
Hanarin and Tuskarr (with eventually Mogu and Vrykul) as neutral race.
Please blizz, make it happens.
Forest Trolls for the Horde.
That is a possibility, though it gives me another idea of what could come next.
Say we have the Amani a starting out as a independent villain, even as the Amani try to take advantage of the chaos to seize more territory, the Void attacks ZulâAman in order to raise Kithâix. In the midst of this three war, Amani dissidents reach out to the Revantusk and the Horde, since they recognize fighting against everyone at once isnât the best idea.
A plan is made to get rid of the diehards in control and seize power, but as the strike team invades, we discover a grand betrayal that allows for the resurrection of Kithâix. We then quickly aid in the defense of ZulâAman, while Kithâix escapes (to serve as a raid boss) we successfully liberate ZulâAman. In the aftermath, the Amani join us in gratitude for our aid, and we get a message about how our hold hatreds canât blind us.
I would like you guys to remember that we got:
- Undead elves as skin option - essentially a different âraceâ from normal elves.
- Manâari demons as skin option for Draenei - this is factually a different race/species, they no longer are draenei/eredar, they are full on demons and evil, who rampant the cosmos causing destruction.
Both of those with unique quests
But blizzard cant give us green and blue skin color for trolls that represent forest and ice trolls, neither red orcs. It doesnt even need to be the bulky model, that can wait, just the damn colors
This makes no sense, and its actually baffling, when you realize those skin colors are in the game for 17 years, as npc options, but we cant use then
While they could give us the skin colors for the Darkspear model, I would prefer that we got to play as the bulky Forest Troll model. Besides Iâm not a real fan of how the customization races have been presented in-game. For example, outside of a few instances, like the Draenei heritage quests, Manâari players are largely treated as Draenei in-game.
Ice trolls are cooler. By a long shot.
