Forced name change

I was forced to change the name stormydaniel, so no sympathy here.

I’d be running around with a toon name Igotbo

I’m not surprised at all that they forced a name change for that, though it is very tame compared to the names I’ve seen before. When you make a crude name like that you should already know in advance that it may get force changed even if it gets through the filter.

Someone in my guild was named “Sisterfister” and as far as I know was never reported. Awful awful name…

So you’re saying that Blizzard shouldn’t enforce their EULA when someone breaks the agreement because you think people take life too seriously?

Dude, get over yourself.

LOL.

The “snowflakes just looking to get offend (sic) so they can be that person who can say ‘yea I made a difference’” are only reacting to those who deliberately chose an offensive name for the purpose of playing their victim card after they are reported and action is taken.

There is no appealing for a name like “Smellycrotch”.

There’s always someone that’s hyper sensitive to bad words or “offensive” names. I myself am not one of these people.

That being said, it was a bad name choice and I see why it was reported as such.

Really and you wonder why

Yeah, you’re not allowed to have names of pop culture icons and such. I had to look her up and she’s an adult film star. Pretty obvious that it would have to changed.

Moral of the story to OP: It’s not cute to have some immature name in the game. You’re probably not an eleven year old, so grow up.

Are you serious right now?

lmao…your tank must have trimethylaminuria, or maybe trich…shoot them a msg n let them know there are treatments for such things.

The name filter only prevents blatant profanity, sexual references, derogatory slurs, and copy written content… there are plenty of things that are offensive that will get passed the filter, you are expected to use some common sense and exorcise a some restraint and show maturity in your name choices. The ability to report someone for name violation exists because the automated system is not perfect and can’t be perfect.

You picked a name that any decent person would find inappropriate, and it got rightly reported.

Wait, is Sunday continuing into Monday now because of the holiday? There is no way this is a serious post.

I see a lot more crying from the people calling other people sensitive then I do from the people being called sensitive.

uwu, thats not true you silly furry

I’ll allow it.

If you’re creative enough you can create names that are offensive but not currently on the banned list. They append it every so often.

Someone found it tasteless and Blizzard agreed it wasn’t appropriate. It takes more than one report to get a forced name change.

I’d know, friend of mine was concerned his name wasn’t appropriate (mostly due to joining a very family friendly guild) and asked the guildies to report it. It took a few days before it kicked in.

I mean…it’s pretty obvious why it was changed.
