Its cool that you’re such close friends with him to know his desires
Acting like we don’t have interviews where he literally says he personally feels flying was a mistake.
And he’s the leader of the dev team, so his personal opinions are what run the thing.
He also doesn’t understand why people play more than one character (again, something we have a quote on), which is why the last few expansions have been so alt-unfriendly.
Dragonflight has been decent with alts, I assume because higher ups got mad at how many subs got lost from Shadowlands and blamed it on that.
Isn’t wonderful how those that rather having normal flying are being treated now…many of those that want the normal flying are Disabled Folks…those that have issues with motion sickness and stuff like that…those with physical issues from strokes…or damaged arms and hands…so what does Blizzard do…give all the player base that jumped up and down and loves Dragon flying …we all get it right off the back …day one of going live.
And here we are over 1 yr from DF going live and still haven’t had normal flying offered yet…oh wait …there is PTR patch with it coming out…oh but look if you don’t have all 6 top Dragon Factions to at least Renowned 15 and get the Brand new one that is coming with the new patch you still can’t normal fly…so basically lets see…lets punish the Disabled Folks that have huge issues with Dragon Flying and make them worked double the amount to be allowed to do normal flying while we just hand out Dragon Flying to rest of player base with not having to do one thing but buy the game…yep Punish the Disabled Folks…
Very odd. Saying that people who struggle with dragonriding are and always have been incapable of playing the game, kind of sounds like you’re trying to convince them to quit.
I only do old content. A lot of the people who bought DF but had issues with dragonriding are doing old content. I’m not sure why you think people are struggling and failing at old content. But then I never had anything to prove to malignant strangers in this game, so I’m not interested in that. Sounds like a bore.
I will say about 90% or more of video games that take a higher degree of skill or movement to play, don’t cater to anyone that has movement disabilities or poor playing skills. I really don’t see this as the evil mustache twisting attack against anyone that some of you are trying to make it out to be. Ever since WoD standard flight has always been locked behind pathfinder. While I will say yes we had flight in the form of dragonriding this whole xpac from day one as a major item in the game. It not far fetched to just generally expect that pathfinder would be used yet again as a way to unlock normal flying as it always had been since WoD.
Fair or not fair that is left up to each persons personal feelings on the matter. But I don’t feel that its like an ultra evil conspiracy against the player base.
Except people who want old flight will complain that the rare elites and world bosses are dead before they get there.
Ah yes… because we need a flight map toy for current content…
My question is why can’t you learn to dragon ride? Is it seriously that difficult for you to understand and pick up basic mechanics and thought processes? Or are you disabled? Because the cold hard truth is sitting at 929% flight speed on a dragon isn’t visually faster than 310% neverminding the fact you can disable some effects for dragon riding that would at minimum help mitigate any motion sickness that could occur.
For a company to decide to take money from customers while being dishonest about discontinuing accessibility, well, it’s not a long-term growth strategy to alienate your customers. After a company pulls a bait-and-switch on its customers, they’re not coming back. You may feel the world is a better place if people with minor visual impairment are no longer in your game. That’s a you thing.
Blizzard Devs hate WoW and the players.
Just let us old people have our old mounts, we earned them. I had to walk 12 miles in the snow just to get to ICC to try for invincible.
Now that’s a crazy reach
Holy heck.
No one said this. The level of word gymnastics to reach this conclusion after reading their post…
The fact of the matter is the game can’t cater to everyone. So the dev team has to pick who they are going to make the game for. The mass majority, or the small minority. You can twist that statement however you please into ‘wow you are sooooo heartless!’, however that’s just the truth of the world.
If you played previous xpacs, and can’t handle dragonriding. There are ground mounts and flightpaths so accessibility is there (just like previous xpac before pathfinder released).
And no. It’s not point and laugh at the person with disabilities. It’s a video game designed for people without. You can’t remove all challenges or difficulties to cater to everyone. That’s how you hurt the majority, and the game.
Regardless… It’s coming in like a month or so and I’m happy for it.
pathfinding is not the true way to flying its just a sick caricature of how we USED to get flying.
I don’t understand Blizzard’s logic behind this at all. Well, my theory is they’re spiteful.
So, we’ve been zooming around all the zones in DF at warp speed. We’ve gathered all the glyphs to help us be better zoomers.
What path will I be finding that I haven’t already found with my warp speed dragon?
BFA and Shadowlands want a word with you.
Not sure what you mean… we have flight map toys for those.
And they were added while they were current content.
The person I quoted is saying we don’t need Dragonflight Flight toys because it’s still current content.
Sasarai is tired.
I’m sorry if you don’t like pathfinder. Keep up the protest but maybe start working on it just in case?
all this round and around arguing Does nothing. We can’t stop it we can’t make it harder.
Never going to happen…
Will never get rank 15 with anyone during this xpac
But it is what it is
OK now I understand… and agree.
