I just finished my DK intro quests and was greeted into the Hord by Saurfang! And azgrim was thereee. Alive and well
Not to mention that when you hit Chromie Time there they are, right on cue, Morgraine and his squad trying to get me to the Maw…

I would love it if I’d never, ever see Baine in the Warchief spot again.
This reminds me of a conversation I had in Trade Chat.
Someone was like: “the update to to Silvermoon was great, they need to update Org”
I was like: “what are they gonna do, make the mud more muddy?”
Silvermoon had tons of lore and an overall aesthetic that a glow-up made sense.
Org doesn’t have that. It would have to go somewhere else thematically - like if the Maghar or Goblins added more steampunk tech to it. Or if the Druids made it green again by healing the land that the Alliance wrecked.
Even the Cata era update was just more metal and spikes stacked on top of the dirt.
As a Vulpera fan, I have a hard time forgiving him for turning down their request to join.
He was proven wrong, of course.
Still, it just goes to show what a mess of things that cow would make if he had the final say of things.
they’ve said they are going to, but who knows what direction they will take it.
When I made my boosted character from getting Midnight and went to Ogrimmar there was an NPC to help launch every xpac going all the way back to Cata in or around Grommash Hold. Honestly was kind of hilarious seeing them all stand there together.
I think the exact problem you encountered - Nazgrim was there! - is why a comprehensive Org update might actually be really unlikely at this point. There are a dozen very important story quests that all require you to meet people in Org. These quests are made possible by phasing tons of NPCs in and out, but the geometry of the city never changes. Radical changes to the city would break all of them.
Silvermoon skips this problem partly by being much less important to begin with, and partly by virtue of Old Silvermoon existing in an instance. Making “Old Orgrimmar” available to players would require a much bigger technical feat.
they might not radically change those locations but others?, like the valley of spirits and the valley of wisdom are pretty much all underused.
Lowkey, I do actually like much of what was done with the Org Portal Room. Not so much its location, or the big metal dinner plate, but beyond that? The Low Warm Lighting, on Dark Warm Stone and Wood. The Metal is way more subdued, and complements the better use of Bone. Its a decent enough advancement of “classic Orc look”. Its homey.
Use that as a base, then actually organize Org better. Make it feel more “city” over “fortress”.
Orgrimmar has a lot of potential. Massive canyon-city, The Drag, Cleft of Shadow, The Underhold, all sandwiched between Durotar, Azshara, Southfury/Barrens, and an ocean. Give it a cool dock, make it a terminus (or worthwhile hub) on a grimrail depot style rail system, and incorporate some elements of Thunder Ridge’s revitalization to give it a lush section.
be carefullw what wish for, maybe they will update ogrimmar but give half of it to allaince
That’s not a threat anymore, because it would be contrasted with me belching loudly in the Stormwind Cathedral just to hear the echo, while a Paladin main spams duel challenges at me because I ruined the vibes of his knighting ceremony.
I already had to deal with Night Elves and Worgen glowering at me after my visit to Bel’ameth and Gilneas City, so at this point if you’re expecting future cities to be mono-faction, you’re probably going to be disappointed.
If the price of beautiful cities is that they’re shared between the factions, you’ll be fine. Because eventually everyone who hates the Orc/Troll aesthetic will filter themselves out of the updated Orgrimmar as soon as possible and only the people who enjoy it will remain.
With any luck, they double down on the current direction:
But more importantly:
Please. Take it. Demon Fall Canyon never should have been part of the Ashenvale zone.
Nope thank you, dont want them to remember orcs exist
It doesnt have that for you
My hope for Orgrimmar is that they don’t try to shoehorn in elven architecture into a city that should carry the aesthetic of the Orc, Troll, and Tauren cultures in all their varieties. Let’s throw in some Vulpera caravans journeying through the streets and gathered out in Durotar.
Cleft of Shadows can have a mix of Mag’har Orc (possibly studying the void under Relka Bloodfyre) and the Forsaken’s influence.
It would be nice if a portion of Azshara were set aside for the Nightborne and Blood Elves so that they can have a base close to Orgimmar.
Have a trainyard and a majopr harbor thats actulyl conencted to the city
with iron horde/maghar tech
(with a main univezrse old man thogar)
Have as said trian for undermine, btu aslo to liek the crossroads or liek ratches and liek conenct major cities/hubs that way
I think ogrimar if done well with a iupdate could have some stuff from all races aesthethic
If make a tower or dungeon for the portlas instead of right next to main gate ,; they coudl ealst uyse some NB and belf aesthethic there asa n example
They’ll update it … and open it up so Alliance players can set their hearthstones there forever.
(The one consolation there is that Alliance players probably won’t want to.)
im 100% sure they cant upgrade Orgrimmar and shouldn’t.
the city is an orc city and foremost, and knowing blizzard they will screw up everything making a cosmopolitan zoo with a bunch of races aesthetics leaving nothing to orcs.
Yeah taurens and trolls should have a small section to them, even goblins, but thats it, and im sure as hell they wont do that, cause when they did in CATA people much later started crying about segregation.
and im sure they will replace the warchief seat, cause the meanie Garrosh put in a bad place(valley of strength it means is evil cause it have strenght in the name)
Hopefully they never update orgrimmar

I think belfs/NB should have their little area for the portal room, theyre THE magical races of the horde, and NIghborne are the experts in telporiaiton magics
their had teleporation network in suramar, so it would make sense to replicate it but grander scale for the capital of the horde being connected with its other major cities
Most of it should be orc theme, and like epxand the shipyard/docks to be conencted with/part of city, and a trainyard to counterpoint the deeprumtram w
and like have liek some gronn as guards or dockworkers moving havy equipement/shipments about
Also shoudl 100% open, up the underground areas from SoO as being part of the city
they were cannoicly sued during legion to bunker civiliains during the legion invasions
so like THEY SHOULD
aand like use it as induestrial area with elementals, like BRF’s blast furnace btu without forcing the elemental(s)
the horde has advanced alot over 20+ years and has acces to alot of resources and tech; and they should be showased as being a thing
And they can keep and shoudl keep horde/orc aesthethic as main thing
Ogrimamar should be updated and so shoudl stormwind since blizz wants those the be onyl citieqs that matter alognside whatever current expansion hub there is at the time
