For newbies: what multiboxing is

I have boxed 2 since Legion and I find it a blast. I have couples that work together like Kirk/Spock, Picard/Riker and so on. Lots are male/female of same race and others mismatched. I am currently working on my #39 and #40 to max level to get the last 2 heritage armors for both factions.

its cheating and pay to win for low skill players that couldn’t otherwise. blizz condones it because they care about money more then integrity…. I just keep these players out of my groups and don’t lose sleep over it.

Your description of multiboxing is inaccurate. Having multiple accounts and playing them at the same time is within the rules. However, playing all those accounts using software that allows you to perform the same action on all accounts at the same time is called botting and is against the rules. Anyone can report you for it and you will most likely get banned. I’ve reported a handful of people and received automated mail from Blizzard that my report led to a ban.

No. It’s not. you’re wrong. period.

botting is using a program that controls one or more accounts WITHOUT INPUT FROM THE USER.

multiboxing programs require input from the user. 1 keypress sends the same input to multiple clients. that is not botting. that is not automation.

If they used a program that sent MULTIPLE INPUTS to each client or a single client with a single keypress, that could be botting.

I’m not defending anything. You’re just wrong. That’s all. I’m correcting you. If you don’t want to be corrected, don’t say things that are wrong. You being wrong has nothing to do with my personal opinion about multiboxing.

I’m stating facts. Multiboxing is perfectly within the rules. blizzard has said COUNTLESS TIMES that using a program to control multiple accounts is fine as long as all input originates from a human.
