The way the playerbase ekes out any small advantage they can get, and sometimes those advantages are actually big, it’s easy to see how things got the way they are in retail and classic progression servers.
Vanilla is probably the only time a decent amount of people say screw it and play what they like, unless they intend to participate in the parse mini-game or mega-sweat pvp, the game is easy enough to allow it.
