Deciding to slum around on alliance?
I came back from some personal family stuff going on to find out my guild had stopped raiding till DF. Found a casual alliance guild to mess around with while playing casually and they had 6 hunters so playing my mage.
I usually play horde at the end of an expansion to see the other side of the story. There wasnât one this time.
I prefer horde but all the horde guilds that showed interest times didnât work or they were a three day guild.
Yeah, nothing wrong with less than 1% of items in the game being limitedâŚyouâll survive.
Is that a realistic number?
Iâll be fine either way. My claim is that this design paradigm by blizzard is poorly chosen, not that their choice hurts me.
Your reply is a non sequitur.
yeahâŚofc it isâŚhow many of those FOMO mounts (non-skill related) make up of all items available in the game? itâs less than 1% guaranteed
theyâve always had fomo, so your argument is meh.
Just because theyâve always had it doesnât mean it is still good nearly 20 years later.
Thatâs a logical fallacy as well called âappeal to traditionâ. FOMO being around for awhile is a historical fact, it is not a point that supports an argument.
all games have FOMO. Sounds to me like youâre the one with the problem?
gl with that, itâs not going anywhere, and no itâs not outdated. you just donât like it
Iâm playing total war warhammer, Skyrim, and fallout 4 currently. I see no FOMO in those. Even if it exists, which I havenât seen proof of, it doesnât impact me.
Itâs also a patently silly statement to say ALL games have FOMO because the existence of even one game without it makes you wrong. Youâre trying to prove Too much.
Anywho, I shanât derail the thread anymore. Apologies.
thatâs awesome, i hope youâre having fun in those games. Iâm more of an RTS person myself
anyway, FOMO is a great marketing tool that has been proven to work as well. guess you just arenât going to consider that side of things though, because, like i said, itâs just something you personally donât like.
Limited time rewards also motivate players - because having cool things matters in any MMORPGâŚwhether you like to hear that or not, itâs true. take a look around you next time you log in - people are often riding on their rarest mounts, and showing off their rarest xmogsâŚwhy do you think they do that?
also, FOMO andies arenât asking for the teldrassil hippogryph back, many of them are asking for old AOTC rewards, CM/Glad rewards, and old questlines to be added back to the gameâŚjust because they feel entitled to them.
hard pass on that
So we canât have seasonal rewards that encourage people to play now rather than down the line because some people canât handle not being able to have everything?
That sounds a little entitled. If you didnât play in a season and didnât collect a cosmetic reward associated with that season, so what? Nothing happens. Itâs not like not having every mount in your collection is -10% dps or something.
Cosmetic rewards are exactly the type of rewards that should be used for this purpose. When they want to make a reward that is somewhat rare or exclusive. Make it a cosmetic. Because cosmetics donât impact gameplay. Games with rare things to collect are more fun than games that lack rare collectables.
Iâm no FOMO andie, but I do wish theyâd keep exclusives to Feats. It just feels weird that some items really are just âyou had to be thereâ items for logging in - never to be seen again. Not like working towards Veilstrider/Faceless One, Gladiator, KSM, etc.
I dunno things like the movie rewards leave a bad taste in my mouth, but I donât like off-game promotional events in general. Least WoW hasnât had a deal with GrubhubâŚ
You can have your rewards but not important ones. Please pay attention to the first post, we are not discussing general FOMO rewards but class fantasies.
Removing MOP legendary questline was a mistake
WOD one too
That seems like the most unclear line in the sand Iâve ever seenâŚ
Cosmetics are cosmetics. Thatâs just all they are.
Not really. But I do not expect a player or developer with no transmogs on his character to understand this. And to be frank, you look like a clown in this outfit.
Did you really just transmog shame someone?
What a troll
They donât even use a transmog. Check the armor. I never thought I see an Ion Hazzikostas player in the wild nature but they do really exist.
Youâre still shaming someone who maybe likes the appearance
