People complain about their spec being clunky all the time, how people lag, how as a melee you are constantly forced to play the waiting game till you can hit the boss again.
Many do agree, many also say there is too much clipping, we need dyes, why is my tier always ugly, FF has better art/music, ugh what did they do to the color/lighting this xpac I can’t play for an hour without getting a migraine.
There was literally a 250ish post thread about how they ruined Alleria’s design…
If FOMO is making you feel negative then you need to stop being afraid of missing out. It’s a stupid notion because you’ve got things entirely the wrong way around. The event is still on. You haven’t missed out. So just get out there and get it done. In a few weeks if you don’t get it done and you actually do miss out, then you can react to it with disappointment. But not fear.
FOMO is a player problem.
If someone can’t say no to shiny video game pixels and subject themselves to things they find miserable because they need them then said player needs to learn self-control or step back to get some perspective.
You have to set goals. If you are a collector you have to have goals as to what you are collecting and what you are not collecting. Then FOMO is drastically reduced as a problem.
I’m glad I got over the absolute completionist mentality years ago. If anything I consider it more notable to have the base version of a game, or to ignore limited time events if I have no interest in them. It just doesn’t bother me anymore.
FOMO
F is for Fear.
Fear Leads to Anger, Anger Leads to Hate, Hate Leads to Suffering.
Suffering leads to rage posts.
I’ve known people who genuinely enjoy time gated content. It motivated them to do something they might not have otherwise done. Having an end date gives them a reason to go after the items or do the things.
It makes them happy to do it.
Personally, I have commitment issues so unless I truly enjoy something or would die to get an item, I’m most likely missing that date lmao Would be nice if Plunderstorm wasn’t limited so I could chip away at it over a period of time, but I think it’s more of a trial than a limited event.
Just throwing out a new mode and leaving it up probably wouldn’t go over well, so they wanted to give it a trial run to get feedback and see how many people play it.
I can’t really say if it should be eliminated or not because I do know people who genuinely enjoy such content. They’d probably be sad if it no longer existed.
On the other hand, I’m not really a fan and I know others aren’t either. At the end of the day, though, no one is being forced to participate.
Great point actually. We literally can’t have it all hahaha… I’ve gotta get some goals.
Most ideas I see are worthless. Thank god Blizzard isn’t implementing them and listening to community. Imagine actually playing the game instead of ranting (wasn’t aimed at you but for all forum gurus).
everything creates negativity. yall just found a new buzzword and now want to complain on relevant topic #47.
fomo is a you problem. your “fear of missing out” on a resikin of a mount that’s existed since the end of time is not a relevant concern to anyone but you.
This.
Any system where you dont automatically get the items in question from logging in, will “create negativity”
And it’s at least 10 years outdated game design
I disagree. Here we are.
It has to be limited otherwise the queues would be high and no one would get anything.
Toxic completionism creates negativity.
I’ll never understand why some people think they deserve everything the game offers.
I mean FOMO does intensify the negativity I suppose but so many WoW players are negative period.
