Follower dungeons

did you afk? That’s how you get booted. Sounds fair if you did.

That’s true. And while copying could be considered lame, at the same time it could be a good thing. If something is awesome, I’d love to see it in every game.

The problem is that Blizzard didn’t copy it completely. They made it worse. The feature has been in FF 14 for like 2 years and Blizzard is like nah… 10 times per day limit with very little experience.

If you’re going to copy something, at least make it just as good if not better. You see this short coming in every Blizzard game.

Hopefully they Riff on it and make it better. I agree though, copying the best things from games isn’t a bad thing lol. Just makes it even better and this is the most fun I’ve had dungeoneering in a long time…and I’m not really even happy to say that. I just am a slower gamer these days and its hard to enjoy the current way most people play.

Nope the AI mage said I wasnt pulling fast enough and told me to die. Then kicked.

Whether or not you previously did follower dungeons, you will find other players taking different routes. I don’t see how starting on follower dungeons to learn some common route often used in normal dungeons is going to hold people back over starting without knowing anything about routes. Even most videos show only the bosses, rarely if ever a full walkthrough or managing trash mobs.

These are a complete waste of time.
I am a one-eyed player, I was hoping to not have to pug normals anymore since invariably I end up getting kicked because I’m not doing enough DPS or keeping up with the group. My friends are all Heroic level raiding and I don’t want to bother them for normal dungeons.

Not only is your xp nerfed, these dungeons don’t even drop useable gear to advance your character.

The xp gains are fine from my experience…I am not sure why everyone is complaining about the xp? Maybe I just don’t rush…I’ve played too many JRPGs that take waaaay longer lol…its all relateive I suppose. Just genuinely curious why there is so much hate on them…

Not against more xp…but its not really that bad IMO.

And most of the gear I’ve been getting is 50+ item levels higher than my previous…so also not understanding this either…

Then again…I don’t use guides or anything so I am probably in the minority here…I don’t watch videos or play anywhere like most players…

This entire feature is so nice to me that I even resubbed for 12 months…its honestly that game-changing to me. I really hope they do more with this.

I’ve done 3 and absolutely no gear has even dropped? You’re getting gear?

Yeah, its not a guaranteed drop I think…I don’t really keep up to date on the forums or updates…this caught me 100% by surprise.

I’m level 65 on my priest, was wearing like 230ish gear and I’ve been getting 280-290ish upgrades…every few bosses or so I might get a piece. Nothing super crazy but I’m mostly just glad I can actually dungeon lol. Thats with doing like 4 dungeons I may have upgraded like 4 or 5 pieces ish…

My dog is really happy too! So I can take breaks and play tug with her during them. No more having to wait til its done or have people scream for afk  I would even sacrifice all gear and xp if I had too haha…

But…hey I won’t argue for anyone that wants better gear/xp

What are we supposed to assume about that? If I am running a normal leveling dungeon and get a piece of gear that is 50 ilvls higher than some empty slot I had, that’s sad.

What was the ilvl of gear you got, the same as a normal dungeon or less? How does that compare with quest gear at the same level? How many pieces per dungeon on average?

Sorry, you can refer to the post I just made above this one. Gear isn’t a reason I play though…I play just for fun. I never care about gear. Honestly, wouldn’t mind if gear/xp were totally off for follower dungeons…I do them because I want to actually play the content…I have a lifestyle that I can’t play with most players spamming dungeons. It is legit that simple for me. And to expand on that…yeah these dungeons are taking me probably well over an hour to complete…I AFK a LOT lol…thats why I’m so happy about this.

I do realize I am in the minority of players here with this…but it is nice that they toss some love in my direction too once in awhile…not just for the high octane players.

I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if that’s been happening for a long time now to fill in numbers wherever needed.

I’m at 63 on my Paladin and am currently wearing 250, from the pre expac event. I wonder if that’s why I’m not getting anything since what they have isn’t an upgrade.

My wife said gear wasn’t guaranteed drops on any normal dungeons, so maybe RNG? I’d need more players that know more to chime in on that though…I haven’t played DF for a long time. I am mostly a Classic player…

And I haven’t actually dungeoned since…really Legion…I just never had time.
Thats why I’m so weirdly happy about this update…I can finally do them

I checked a few sites about the update on gear and it says 421 item level Explorer gear (3/8) can drop…assuming that is at 70…though I’m sure theres easier ways to gear lol.

I’m probably one of the few that would still be happy about even just that haha…so whatevs. All the best.

If there is less gear or lower in quality than normal dungeons, then it won’t be preparing badly geared players to move up to normal dungeons. I think it should. The game should not be designed around the idea that anyone who is not competitive should be playing for love of the game and in awe of its perfection of design. Unless of course the goal is less future participation, which in my opinion they shouldn’t want.

Games are meant to be fun lol, not everyone falls into the competitive scene. I did a decade ago…now I play casually…

I’m not sure what you are saying here…

There is gear in the dungeons…up to a decent item level 421 or so…is that not good enough? Not sure what you mean…Is this not the same as what is in Normal dungeons with real players? I don’t know by the way…genuine question because I don’t do normal dungeons…

This hasn’t taken anything away from the way competitive players that will want to play the game the same way they have been playing… it added immensely to how casuals will play.

Same gear with the same drop chance as if you have a 5 person group.

Thanks! Sorry Opalunaiya, I think I did misread your comment a bit too. You said If there is less gear lol…I misread that…my apologies. I agree with that part of what you said.

You have the same chance to get gear as if you were in a normal 5 man group, which would be 20% per boss if i remember correctly.

I have been through like 12 bosses. Not a single drop.
