I want to do Mythics but can never get into any…
Having to grind GOGOGO +10/+15 keys each week so I can get the permission to play a raid at my own pace can lick my paws
- Time mostly, I have a large family with all the benefits that come with that.
- Elitist gatekeepers. You know those neck-beards that breathe this game 24/7 and probably are the ones that spam raid carries in trade chat. The ones that treat this game like a job because they can’t or just won’t get a job irl.
- By the time I’m ready to raid I have decent enough gear for what I want to do in game from quests and emissaries. I’m 429 on this guy without doing a single dungeon or raid and I kill most open-world content easy, so I don’t care about pushing the envelope much more.
Laziness.
That and naga/old god stuff has never been interesting to me.
My schedule’s just too inconsistent given how raiding and lockouts work, and the necessity to have a raiding centric guild to match those requirements.
I did it in the past, really enjoyed it, but shift work is just completely incompatible with raiding. At best I can PUG one every now and then, but for the most part, I’m extremely thankful that meaningful 5-man content exists now.
I typically only get a chance to play after 9:00 PM and I feel like I’m already too late to the game with Nyalotha.
Fights feel overbloated, blizzard seems to be afraid to make any fight have less than 12 mechanics (A mild exaggeration, but still) that 3 are hyper deadly and will wipe the entire raid if you mess up. The fights themselves feel more like chores than anything remotely fun anymore.
The cost to actually stay competitive is annoying, and consumables are expensive, and require a ton of either money or time investment to make. There’s a ton of stuff too: enchants, gems, food, potions, flasks.
The rewards for raiding simply don’t matter anymore, there’s no benefits, there’s no pretty class sets to be baited in with, and all of it’s kinda pointless at the end of the day?
I used to raid, quite a bit, I enjoyed it, but years of raiding have eroded away my interest. Everytime I join a guild, there’s always drama, there’s also people getting angry, there’s people refusing to get better, leadership refusing to deal with it.
I also don’t enjoy having to cut out massive chunks of my time to dedicate to raiding, and only to raiding. PuG raiding exists, but that’s even more annoying and toxic to deal with.
Also with the advent of raidfinder, I can simply get any story satasfaction out of it I want, whenever I want, assuming I don’t just go to youtube, because I don’t really want to wait in an LFR queue.
Not that anyone’s actually gonna care, so I’m not sure why I wrote out so much on this.
Tl:dr: Burnt out, Raids aren’t fun, raidings expensive, raid guilds notoriously suck.
Tough to find a guild that I enjoy being in mostly.
Hi there! I used to be a big time raider and I love raiding! However, I am slowly losing my sight and I belong to a guild of 3 people. We are older folks and are family.
So my only option is LFR. Though I don’t mind LFR, I just wish everyone would use the voice chat that Blizz put into the gqame. Reading chat is very hard on my eyes. I have it set with a black background and the largest font available.
So, sadly, I can’t raid anymore…or do instnaces.
For me: Way too many emotionally unstable kids who are not very self aware. Seems to be since WoD dropped and introduced forced gameplay.
I feel your pain my man.
My work schedule doesn’t permit me to raid on a set schedule. I would love to join a mythic prog guild. I love the idea behind strategizing with a solid group of players.
I’ve always been able to pug AOTC but that’s generally pretty easy. The challenge isn’t there as much. I get my fix from running high keys but I’ve always dreamed of mythic raiding. I work all 3 shifts so that’s not really an option for me as no prog guild wants some who can only be there one week every 3-4 weeks
Cuz Horde side my server 100% of ALL raiding is either buy a carry or sell a carry…
If you aint AOTC, you aint raiding…that kind of stupid bullcrap
I work at a grocery store and we have a completely random schedule there.
I could probably pug normal, but my experience doing that hasn’t been great, so I stick to LFR.
My work schedule just doesn’t allow scheduled raiding. I might PUG but I really haven’t found a reason to do anything outside of M+ since I can’t do “scheduled” raiding anymore.
I like your statement, it’s interesting but what if I compared raid tiers to baseball seasons? Yes, it all goes away, becomes meaningless in the sense you mentioned, but they still suit up next season, do all the preparation and so on. Anyway just interested in what you’d respond to that comparison.
There are a number of reasons.
- I don’t have a guild or friends group to run with.
- I’m unsure of the mechanics for my role.
- I play at odd times 10pm to 8 am Mon - Thurs.
- Pugs usually require you to out gear the content you intend to run and there is no point in running it once I do out gear it.
I’m only interested in completing a story line or quest line. That’s it.
The raid encounters are like ridiculous choreographed dance numbers and quite frankly, it’s not worth it to me, to memorize every phase of every encounter just to complete a quest line. I’m not there for the gear. I don’t plan on raiding ad nausea.
I like legion raiding because it’s more laid back, but anything current is just something people take way too seriously which is something I avoid.
