I remember having a focus macro for seduce/fear CC in vanilla. I’d set the focus and keep the target CC’d for as long as needed. It was very useful and should be a part of classic.
That is definitely not coming back. That got removed.
If they decide to bring back the focus unit it will be the 2.0 version.
Yes it got removed, however in removing it they changed classic so it doesn’t match vanilla. They should fix that.
They’d have to pull in very little from later changes. Overall it’s a pretty trivial change software side all things considered. The gameplay impacts are more significant, but once again, in Vanilla the scripting API went far beyond what this unit frame can do by its lonesome self.
Classic has other ids they created in bc. They would just have to enable the focus id.
Just to be clear … I will report anyone that kicks a puppy!
This is why RCR in classic is terrifying.
He’s not trolling. He’s calling attention to the OP’s disingenuous argument.
OP claims it should be changed because of [X] but he really wants it changed because of [Y].
I guess they better remove the functionality to designate tanks in raids, or main assists. Because those frames allow people to bind macros to those persons or their targets without needing to manually target those creatures or players themselves.
The already have TBC’s version of target, targettarget, pet, pettarget, and potentially more i’m forgetting. They added those all to classic but didn’t add focus which was part of the same technology.
No he is trying to distract from the conversation and discredit the op by making an inflamitory accusation.
He wants to set up multi-boxers as a straw man so people will ignore the issue.
Like when I accuse you of kicking puppies to dicredit you.
Why would we listen to a puppy kicker
The frames were still there and they could go ahead and remove the ability to designate tanks wouldn’t bother me one bit. Even if i healed it wouldn’t. Not hard to place tanks in certain spots so their unit frames (which were in vanilla) stayed in one locale.
Go ahead and argue for removal of other things though since they intentionally removed something you want.
I can still do this in the Beta right now, so long as it involves something I’m targeting(or my target is targeting, or my target’s target is targeting and so on), or what somebody in my raid or party is targeting(or what their target it targeting, and so on), or even their pets for that matter.
What I can’t do is use a focus frame to bind a macro to a target that isn’t in the “target chain” of somebody in my group. Even though that ability did exist in Vanilla, and has existed in every version of the game since 1.1, except the Classic WoW Beta.
Which must mean it was done on purpose. Obviously that doesn’t matter though right?
Except that @op already has a long drawn out post about how he won’t be paying to box because the TBC era feature of /focus isn’t in the game.
If dogs were banned in a community, and someone makes an impassioned speech about all the benefits of having dogs as companions, it is relevant if that person is Michael Vick.
I’m not saying that @op is equivalent to Michael Vick, but you brought puppies into it.
Either way, the information is relevant to some people. An argument doesn’t become trolling just because you don’t find it effective on you.
Not really. The OP has already posted about their desire for Focus to be used for Multi Boxing in other threads. This new one is just a way to get attention on the subject without the negativity surrounding multi boxing.
It’s a valid discussion but the OP is also being disingenuous. Both can be true.
No distraction. OP created another thread and made a big deal out of it saying they would unsub their second account unless Blizzard put it in because they want to multi box to power level alts.
And yet there you go ignoring the people who dont multibox and want the focus id so that you can argue with your straw man.
It didn’t exist in vanilla. A script existed that allowed you to use a word, and apply a target to that word. You could do this unlimited times with unlimited targets in vanilla. Not really the same thing as a focus target.
But…in pulling that in will they have to pull even more 2.0 changes in to support it ?
There’s is a difference between changes made as part of the game moving to a new expansion and changes made to inhibit previous exploitative behaviors while including the base concept. The Focus Frame was the latter.
Does that prevent you from chain “CC’ing” or healing whatever that “target” would be?
NO, it does NOT. It might not be as easy or convenient to do so, but it IS still possible to do so.
