Flying is 'at a nice middle ground'

Wow, just wow. You really think everyone working at Blizzard is stupid?

You’re a teenager, aren’t you?

Flying is for the birds! I’m glad no flying now. Wish they stuck to their guns in wod.

Guarantee you that we won’t be able to fly in Nazjatar

Wowhead is speculating that both new zones will have flying available. Who knows?

Yeah, we’re about at 3/4 ground. We need a bit more of a shift into relevant content before we are in the middle.

Timeless Isle. Dinosaur land. Electric Lightning island. All after pathfinder.

The actual middle ground is having all those different play styles in the game.

F Ion…can’t stand the guy & I never like him…he should be fired for bringing the down the playership…you screwed the pooch on this 1 Ion!

It isn’t tailored to every player. Some players were prefer to pay with gold like the old way.

Oh you are right. MoP DID come after pathfinder was added in Warlords. How could I forget? /s

It only takes the ones making the decisions being stupid to make them all look that way.

Blizz did throw a passive aggressive tantrum when they had to reverse flying. They had it available during early summer to be deployed to live, but only launched flying as a bundle with merc PVP changes which took an extra three months in WoD.

Because it’s Blizzard. Rep is essential to everything, including their forums.

They knew that and also knew some people couldn’t even afford regular flying. There was a Rent-A-Mount station in Stormheim.

So they created Wrath with flying intended and had to make stuff up for the people who weren’t flying. They didn’t make any content require flying after that. There were areas in Pandaria that you couldn’t reach without flying for Explorer but that was max level stuff anyway.

See, they have to develop an xpac where flying or not flying can still get things done. That takes way more development time and work than one that’s ground only (in the beginning) while they work on the flight enabled game. Warlords was pushed out to meet that 1.5 year xpac cycle they wanted to do. They realized that makes things too chaotic and rushed so they’re back to the 2 year cycles.

IF rep actually had more rewards that was lasting like old school rep it would be sweet.

Current rep in BFA is pointless and frustratingly boring.

Yeah I know some will say professions and rep was always boring. But for me rep and professions were most fun before WoD/Legion/BFA.

Last time rep felt fun IMO was MoP.

Clearly, I don’t see you proposing anything other than getting rid of pathfinder. I do agree its taking a bit long to release it, but thats probably due to WM. Which is in itself a dumpster fire on its own.

Pathfinder is fine as is. It isnt difficult at all. And it fulfills the “experience the content before flying over it” logic. It’s just the time gating that is unnecessary. And for this expansion in particular it is ridiculous.

It’s not. They’ve turned flight into a subscription tool. Once the subs get low enough they’ll release P2 and people will surge back to the game to get flight.

What Ion says is bad, and he should feel bad for saying it.

I thought the comment was what were the no flying areas after flying was enabled. Missed the post-pathfinder part.

Of course it was ONLY Argus - that’s the only end-xpac zone created since pathfinder. That’s not even a contention point.

They said Naza-underwater will be a flying zone…maybe. They haven’t decided yet.

A long time ago (during Wrath…) we sort of came up with the idea that flying should be gated behind a heavy rep grind. I think Blizz just ran with it… I want to say that maybe it was because the 2,000 gold or whatever for flying was too expensive at the time!? So we came up with that idea…
