WPVP in classic sucks, that’s why there are so many complaint threads on that forum.
I’m sorry your victims aren’t willing to stand and wait for you to gank them so you can claim you got in gud PvP.

I do like how FF14 does it. It’s a pretty interesting system that doesn’t over-stay its welcome. Squeenix isn’t trying to brainwash people into not wanting flying though.
I wonder if Blizzard will ever figure out that doesn’t actually work?
I love welding, but I hate drawing up the blueprints. I get someone else to do it.
People will find ways to skip things they don’t like. Why should everyone be forced to suffer through no flying, just because you want them to? You CAN go the no flying route, but you choose to not, but you have the option.
This game is a theme park MMO. Do you ride every ride at a theme park, or do you maybe just skip around the the ones you like? It is selfish to ask for the removal of something people enjoy a lot, especially when what you want is an option.

I seem to remember massive moving wpvp battles around Auchendoun during BC every few hours. Participated in some myself even. This was also back when pvp in general was more fun.
Racing through the skies to cap the towers then having a massive battle at the foot of said tower, rinse and repeat until one side won. All with flying in wpvp.

the complaint has to do with the fact that if others can still use flying they get an advantage in gathering professions, pvp situations, etc. much like AP, flying becomes a requirement to keep up.
I like flying but its nice to have like a year where everyone is on the ground so we have to come up with creative ways to traverse the terrain or get to areas that are out of reach.
You mean skip button like in character boost? Like in flight whistle? Like in hearthstone? Like in LFR/LFG which gets you in the instance? Flying … you still have to travel yourself.

No I don’t fly in retail. I got to 110 with no flying
What part of it ruins the entire game don’t you get
Putting you into invincible mode while you zoom past all danger at 400mph is Terrible gameplay
This is what the devs have said, this is why other mmos don’t have flying
I can link the interview where the devs agree with everything I say but how they can’t take flying back
Just because you want to be an in easy mode safe mode where you can read a book while playing is kind of irrelevant
Maybe we should make an easy mode for people like you who want bubble wrapped safety and no challenge

Nodes are multi-tap, if people enjoyed wpvp they’d stay on the ground looking for a fight. It has everything to do with willpower. Say staying on the ground is more fun? Then stay on the ground. Literally nothing is stopping you from doing so.

Pretty much this.
People are just attached to convenience and comfort instead of actually wanting to accomplish something.
They should make a server where you can just teleport to your immediate objective and instakill raid bosses.
Again nobody cares about wpvp. That’s literally the only thing you’re talking about. Flying doesn’t ruin anything. It makes the game more fun.
Just stick to the ground if you like it so much and leave the rest of us alone.

Hrm… lemme get out my crystal ball…
The complaint is that if a person decides to gimp themselves by not using some feature of the game that others do use, that person is at a disadvantage, and the game should be changed so no one who currently uses that game feature has an advantage over them.
According to this way of thinking, any feature in the game that even one player chooses not to use should be removed to prevent others from having an advantage over them.
Somebody doesn’t use mounts? Nobody gets to use mounts! Somebody uses RP walk speed all the time? Nobody gets to run!
My crystal ball is telling me that there will be more pointless scutwork than ever in the next pathfinder, and the pre-programmed release delay will be even longer.

After looking over Shadowlands, they are not changing their business practices. They make these grinds to fuel item shop purchases: The longer a player grinds, the more subscription fee they get and the more likelihood of store purchases. Whether these purchases are driven from personal distress to distract from bad game design doesn’t matter. They’ll keep bad game elements in WoW if they think it makes them money.

Toxic virtue signalling is toxic. Listen, if what you were saying was even remotely close to true, then people would just watch tv. You can be entertained by a tv show without ever having to touch a keyboard and mouse.
Although, on the subject of laziness: Nobody ever looks at a gamer playing a video game and says, “that person is working hard”. You’re still playing a video game…

If they removed flying I would be immensely unhappy and not play nearly as much.
I fly, not because I can get from A to B faster but because I like my characters being on animals like dragons and other creatures that can fly, it’s a HUGE part of what I enjoy about the game.
Also, Pathfinder 1 would be ok. Explore the area, do quests etc, but once that is done, a small questline to get flying and boom, you can fly. No time gated stuff.
Just my tiny opinion.

Retail is dead because it’s so easy and has boring content

Ehh, I can tell you’ve never been to any tournaments where people are sweating and super focused.
Also toxic is such an overused word.
Also you can just look into the devs who are against flying and why.
SUPER convenience is not a good thing.
