Flying in 9.0

Agreed. They didn’t need a compromise for flying in the first place. The original team knew what they were doing with flying. The problem with the way it’s currently implemented is that it makes the game feel more punishing than rewarding. It needs to be turned back into a gold sink.

I agree, the way flying is set up now seems more unfun than fun. Perhaps they can make flying purchasable after acheiving Revered with the first set of reputations of the next expansion. It would probably work better than waiting until expansion is almost over then making it a reputation grind. Granted it took me less than a week but I’m a no lifer. Having to wait this long is a huge bummer. Flying is so good for the game that Blizzard is doing themselves and everyone else a great disservice by witholding it for so long.

Part duex is fine AS long as Part One isn’t gated with it. Meaning: there is no reason to withhold flying in the first official patch of the expac (9.1 let’s say) if we’ve already met the requirements for PF1.

Though part duex should make flight available immediately upon completion like it does now.

MAU Finder.

Either remove it or make it buyable by gold.

Sadly it’ll be like this:
9.0: PF 1 - 20% mount speed.
9.2: PF 2 - Mount equipment “as a patch feature”
9.3.5: PF3 - Flying.

Some ideas that this Company has come up with is mindbogglingly bad or at the very least a head-scratcher.

If you want Pathfinder still, why have people do part 1, and wait till part 2 till you can fly in the expansion launch zones that have grown increasingly tiresome, old and repetitive. Flying is something the designers should embrace and build around that. It can increase fantasy immersion for some players while making other content just more tolerable 'cause let’s face it… the crap they put out is reused, base-level ideas that feels like I’m playing a game from 2006 or something.

If you intend on creating stories for each zone. Have people explore the zone, do the story there fully and that’s it. Ion wanting to keep adding requirements to the list just for reasons is just another sign why the guy should of stayed in designing boss encounters and have someone more competent leading a game design team.

I agree, lets not lock it behind a year of rep grinding garbage. Lets make it so that you cannot fly in any zone during the next expansion until a year of rep grinding in 10.0! Brilliant idea if I must say so myself!

This is how it’s going to be from now on, Blizzard would love to just remove it because it’s such a “chore” for them to work around.

Meanwhile in EQ2, a much smaller game run by a much smaller company, the developers embraced flying so much when they added it that they included two new mount types that work up to flying, one of their raids is so big it requires flying mounts to get around in, the newest player race has flying as one of it’s racial abilities and they have started adding flying mounts that let characters as low as 35 use them.

If they hope to sell me an expac, they better get flying perfect in 9.0

HIt max level
5 minute or less pathfinder
boom, pathfinder account wide retroactive to level 60 in all old and current content.

Otherwise If I buy it it will be when it’s on sale at 15 bucks the last 6 or 8 months, and maybe not then. Classic may satisfy my slow playstyle.

I’m not hunting rep for basic transportation, what’s next, pathfinder to ride ground mounts in current content?

What are we without the skies?

Me I"m probably gone. Been enough messed up silliness about flying. Just take flying off the table and have it work like ground mounts, earn it / buy it once, and good forevermore.
