They are everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE. It doesn’t even seem possible to actively play the game and be lacking them.

I’ve been running out of crests far faster than I’ve been running out of stones on my main, as expected. My alts I’ve just been jumping on for weeklies are much the same, they are burning through crests and having stones to spare though at the same time, they aren’t getting nearly as much of either.
Funnily enough, the less competitive you are the more flightstone you should be able to hoard, especially the first month of a new season. 
if you arent hindered by stones then all it says is that you’re behind on content, considering you’re 6/9H and judging from your keys you’re under 2k as well, i could see why you haven’t felt the burn yet. its ok, its coming once you get a couple upgrades next week.

I mean… I’m 9/9H since last Tuesday and 2.7k io doing 20s on week 2…
And I’m sitting there, looking at my gear that can’t be upgraded because I have 0 crests left (Spent all of them) and 2k flightstones.
No…head and necklace are both 483 sir.

I didn’t use any Flightstones until this week. As a tank, I’m always last priority for gear, so I was passing on everything to the DPS and healers, as I should.
So if the campaign and stuff were awarding a ton of stones, I wasn’t seeing any of it, because of cap.
Now the gear is finally starting to flow my way after everyone else had their fill, and I need a ton of stones and have little income.
bro…every quest in ED awarded flightstones.
You also got flight stones at certain intervals on the renown…

yeah i only did 2 keys week 1 cuz of irl stuff, im 2k just off this week, so i acknowledge my “behind the curve” status. i also have 3 items at 483 and am slamming 350 stones into my weapon per upgrade currently and have to do the same with my offhand once thats done cuz fury is a thing.

doesn’t change my stance that its a nonsense system that, as you can tell from the other commenters, some have issue with and some see it as a non issue. its easy to make it a non issue at all with their removal. It’s ok to criticize a system that is a point of friction for some people.
At least they’re in there instead of my inventory this time.

You are 100% entitled to your opinion.
But I already stated one reason why Many may have had a lack of flightstones.
You guys went through the entire campaign with capped flightstones and all the rewards that the quest gave and the renown gave went to waste.
Putting you back around 1500-2k flightstones.
the fact that theres a cap is also a needless point of friction. if you’re capped you only feel like you’re losing when you do content that rewards them, knowing full well that youll eventually need the ones that vanished into the nether.
You couldv’e used them very early on, on the rewards from the first superbloom.
If you read the patch notes, upgrading one gear made it so if you ever switched out, the next pair’s cost would be reduced by a massive % making it EASIER to upgrade a brand new piece.
They were actually encouraging you to use it early for this exact scenario.
