I’m surprised they wouldn’t just create a new currency, warstones or whatever, and leave flightstones alone for DF gear only.
But maybe they want to make the DF max level content worse so that it pushes people into getting TWW. Seems like kind of a jerk move if that was the plan.
Totally agree. They should never have wiped Flightstones. As for “You shoulda known” crap, that is BS. I actually put in a ticket about the flightstones and at first the AI/chatGPT auto response was nowhere even near to my issue. Aka, “We are sorry you are missing an item, check your mail, and remember to loot your mobs”. When I kept trying to get a real person, finally I got one and THEY had no clue. Bad Blizz acting like EA, trying to get rid of old content. Lame AF.

Best part, one of my alts I hadn’t played for a while has several spark shards that I can now no longer combine without flightstones, which is really annoying for collecting craft transmogs.
Yes it is and they even made several form posts and replies and other post about 2 months prior telling us they were going to be wiped
My advice to you to avoid things like this in the future is to bookmark a website called MMO Champion. They have a thing called Blue Tracker that post things like this on their main page. By doing so you will never miss an announcement from blizzard again even if they make the announcement just by replying to someone else in an unrelated thread.
Heck I just visit it once a month and read through the most recent post since I’m a casual player myself
I can’t say I recalled seeing it in the patch notes at any of the apparently several times it happened. If I have to go to a third party site to find out in game items not related to raid progression are going to be erased from your account, that’s bad game design. It should have been very explicit in game, and non progression items given new ways to acquire them.
They mentioned it in several places on the forums prior to the wipe it was in the same post where they talked about the final season ending and it being your last chance to get some of the end of game achievements.
It’s also just a typical rule of thumb that stuff like that will be whipped at the launch of the new expansion
Dragonflight was the first xpac they did that, so no, a rule of thumb had yet to be established. And again, the forum isn’t the game. Most players rarely touch the forum, especially general as it’s the worst place to get info. Unless it’s how much everything sucks and Blizzard is terrible that seems to be every 10 post around here.
I told you what to do to stay ahead of the game you did not like that answer and you keep trying to create an argument when there is none.
If you want to stay informed bookmark MMO Champion if you don’t want to use a third party website don’t and find out things like this the hard way.
Valor points, honor points, and conquest were always wiped going from expansion to expansion. Flightstones, the replacement to valor, were being reset to zero at the start of every season in DF.
So, it would be incorrect to say they haven’t done it because they’ve been constantly doing it.

Oh my bad, didn’t realize you high and mighty end game runners would get so offended at my gripe that us lowly casual players would have liked a simple heads up character mail that a common quest reward item used in PvE and crafting gameplay would be erased.
PvP systems are separate from PvE gameplay and have been long established for many expansions now. Flightstones, and the crafting sparks you can make with them, were brand new.
Some people feel the need to do for Blizzard what the adds right before the last boss in Cinderbrew Meadery do for her. (If you’re unsure, read their names.)
