Flagging Over-Geared Players Auto-Queue'ing in Heroic Dungeons

Did that in ToP today for the calling. Tank and a DPS left after first boss, we requeued but we managed to 3 man the rest of the dungeon before we got replacements.

Doing a random heroic for the satchel is wrong? What if you do them for the gear so you can give it to players who aren’t geared? That’s not the purpose, that’s cheating because you’re funneling gear to people. Reported.
You yourself said you like doing dungeons to help people. That’s not the point of dungeons. The point of heroic dungeons is to get them over with as soon as possible. You’re not playing as intended. Reported for cheating.

Once we had 3 people leave and it was me as a WW monk and a ele shaman. Asked if he could go resto and we 2 manned it before our group filled. It was memorable at least.

I find stuff like that kinda fun. I rarely (pretty much never) wait for replacements. Let’s just go and see how far we get before/if we get replacements. Times’a wastin’. :stuck_out_tongue:

players should just be scaled down when entering normal or hoeric. i like how ffxiv does things with their roulettes. you can get thrown into any dungeon, regardless of level, and you get scaled down. im not a fan of getting locked out of spells when doing level 30 dungeons in ffxiv but i still like the system overall.

edit: ive never been to end game in ffxiv so im guessing there isnt any scaling at the end game dungeons but i think wow should scale people down to whatever ilvl is is that instance rewards.

I hear that. Why stand around when we can see how far we can get while waiting ya know?

Sit down, enjoy the carry.

No. I have seen this idea twice this week and twice I said it was the lamest idea I ever read. No one should ever be punished for getting geared. It’s been a thing since day one, if you want to play with others at your level I suggest you join a guild or find like minded players.

the main reason overgeared are queing is the callings not satchels anyway. cause the dailies suck so bad they just do dungeons to get callings done.

i disagree with your opinion.

looks like someone is aggro over how they were outshined before they could get a word in, and didn’t get to be “the carry.” LMAO!

Jeez, that’s such a bad take. You meant to get stronger as you gear, not weaker.

understandable. im not a fan of running through a leveling dungeon aggroing everything to a boss so id prefer it scaled down. i mean, i get aotc and ksm and i dont care if i get scaled down if i want to do a normal dungeon for a satchel. makes the new player and alt experience better.

could also have a scaled and non scaled version to queue up. opinions are wonderful things.

edit: or, if you want unscaled, put together your own group and just walk in.

big surprise. Someone taking advantage of the system. I wouldn’t expect much sympathy here. Soon as the run was over he prolly yelled out “Mom! Your such a noob! Bring me a Hot Pocket!!” These are kids and they don’t care.

The ilvl scaling used by FF14 is horrible in of itself and it does absolutely nothing to change the mentality of how dungeons are run. You are, in essence, punished for gearing despite that being the point of running content. In addition even in FF14 the scaling is broken af. A lvl 80 synched down to lvl 30 is still far more powerful than any lvl 30 character. It’s the same way in the high end dungeons. The more geared you are the more powerful you are going to be even with scaling so you can smash your way through it even if you are scaled down. So why bother frustrating everyone with it?

Why would there be sympathy for someone blatantly false-reporting?

im not going to argue on whether we should be ‘punished’ for gearing. i disagree with your entire opinion on this matter. we can just leave it at that.

the dungeon runs even with maxed level toons scaled down in ffxiv still feel like dungeon runs. bosses dont die instantly. tanks pull 2 packs max.

i get it. you dont agree. thats fine. you’re not going to change my mind

I was playing as a tank in FF14 until 5.1 and I can assure you that is not the case. I was pulling wall to wall every dungeon, the only things that stopped me were the physical barriers that I could not pass until the mobs were dead.

I understand your point and don’t believe you should have been flagged simply for making it.

I somewhat agree with you as I think any time someone queues and joins a group, it becomes a team effort and consideration of others becomes the correct thing to do.
Sounds as if this player didn’t do that.

I have a couple questions.

  1. How many people are doing this/how often does this happen?

  2. Instead of flagging people for cheating, is there a trolling option? I think that may be more appropriate as what that player did was rude.

  3. If you posted this in the customer service forums, would you get more views from those who could something about this?

  4. Did you let Blizzard know via Twitter? They still use that platform and that may be an avenue to bring attention to this.

I don’t even care what this is even about but go pound sand…
