Yeah there isn’t and it doesn’t have to be, you just made that up with the assumption of Blizzard not realizing that it will result in that exploit, to keep using it as a weak argument to try and dismiss my post, because you want to sound smart.
so you just don’t want the save?
I mean i would be down with this, but i can see how people would abuse it for sure. You would have to fix the guaranteed loot drops from boss though since that could be easily manipulated to feed loot to one or 2 players.
The loot drop would be fixed by making kicks stop all chance at loot so the player can try to find a more willing none yelling group, but people are taking his post and twisting it around.
Why would I? If I’m not there to kill the boss, then I shouldn’t get loot for it nor should I be saved for it.
His chance at loot wasn’t ruined though, it only broke his GV. A completely different issue.
so what if i kicked all but 2 people right before boss dies. Bosses would still have 2-3 guaranteed loot drop (since it doesnt go below that). again easily exploitable.
And yes no one else is saved, but you just fed 2-3 peices of loot to 1 to 2 people.
Im not trying to twist his words, I just see what we have now (minus the whole GV thing) better since you no tweaking of loot drops have to be made mid fight cause you kicked people
I’ve tried various ways to explain this, it just doesn’t work.
Because you’re explaining with anecdotal bias with assumptions, it’s really simple. Blizzard can fix it both ways, you get it now?
Why would they change an entire lockout/loot system, when they could just change how the GV records a kill?
Did you try the /reload thing I suggested? Worked for many keys people didn’t have tracked by GV.
Read the problem description though. This is the same problem that happens with World Boss WQs. You get credit/loot for the “boss kill” but you don’t get the WQ completed if you’re, for example, a ghost and not near the boss when it dies.
This is a bug.
Well you now can’t release for 5 mins after you die to a world boss(or the boss dies before that), I’m not a fan of the idea… but I haven’t ran into the no world quest completion thing again.
Which too has its own bugs, as some players during world bosses can still release and others (more frequent) cannot. Environmental damage and adds seem to be where the ability to release has been more frequently available.
Lol he is counting the kick as a chance at loot, but the player that got kicked does not want that chance at loot from that bad group, and wants a chance at loot with a better group. In other words remove he chance at loot for that boss completely from the bad group, and let him have his chance at loot from different group insted.
It really is not that hard to see where his point is in his post.
I never said the kick is a chance at loot, I said multiple times the guildies that get kicked don’t get locked to the boss, they come in for the 2nd kill to get their chance at loot. While guildies got loot off the first kill.
The current system right now is where you get a chance at loot if you are kicked… Where did you go off the rails exactly?
I’m sorry that people are behaving terribly here. I agree with your frustrations =( Lots of love and hugs. Things haven’t been very nice lately.
It’s been like this since the loot lockout was implemented in WoD. Get kicked mid fight, you get locked out on the boss if it dies.
you do realize that bosses have guaranteed loot drops based on raid size (min being 10 players), its not per person. Yes the people kicked could leave and be un eligable for loot, but the boss will still drop 2-3 item no matter what.
I see his point, all i am saying is that the way he wants it would be easily manipulated to funnel gear onto people at a alarming rate.
imagine top guilds running splits where they can funnel per boss (if nothing changed besides leaving the group doesnt save you) per 10 people, 20-30 peices of loot, from one boss,
all they have to do is fix the GV, and its a easy fix. The OP fix is way harder to implement while not absolutly breaking the game.
and they’re able to get loot from it for no effort. not much of a troll, really…
No, it’s been like this since the Great Vault was implemented.
Count the kill there, and OP is resolved.
He was referring to the raid drop loot system, not the GV.
