Defensively, the frost mage class design is lost. Glass cannon? Nope, I would accept that however we are dogsh*t in terms of damage even with the recent buffs.
How about ranged defensive at the hand of lost dps? Nope, all of our CD’s are proactive (aside from Ice Block on a stupid CD), meaning we really need to know mechanics of fight to pop them proactively, not an oh shi*t moment (which most classes have).
We wear cloth with 0 health leech (aka. Priest or melee ie. warrior). So no reliable and consistent self-heal, our stupid pet has 0 tanking or special capabilities aside from nova - why can’t it cast a barrier on us while it’s alive or something, or a renew type spell – where are the mage devs with actual ideas?
I’ve played mage 20 years, I’ve been through ups and downs. There is so much button/abilities bloat. If you have the intention to port this over to Xbox, you better simplify the rotations for mage. AOE as frost is stupid - I can’t imagine Arcane…
I could write thesis on mage however it will fall on deaf ears. This happens every expansion, we are strong and nerfed to death, then near the end of the expansion we are good again.
It just doesn’t make sense, the game is too crazy for the existing class design. Mage is far too busy in fights to keep track of these silly rotations, where some melee classes don’t even need to target anything to damage in AOE, can wear plate and have crazy self heal leech with far less to do aside from kicks. Don’t even get me started on DH/Hunter.
I’m sick of seeing damage buffs and the wow community up in arms because of it, when you aren’t addressing the real issue. Most classes by default have more survivability, with health leech of some sort, so I need to stack Versatility wearing cloth at the cost of damage. Makes sense o.O
Where the hell is our frost armor spell that actually means something.
