I don’t even have the option to put it beyond 100% render scale so I don’t know how anyone is putting it to 200%?
you definitely don’t want to set renderscale to 200% as that’d just use more memory and gpu by a lot.
Chances are you’re probably on an AMD mac that can’t use metal 3, and metal 2 leaks memory with no work around that’s known yet :\
