Lol what? I have an alt at 207 and an alt at 204, and it was incredibly easy to do. I’ve barely played either of them. Run some torghast, do your covenant campaign, do a single M+ a week. It’s absurdly easy to get to 200 ilvl.
We should get max ilevel BiS gear for the current patch/expansion at the character creation screen. #ketchupmechanics
Damn bro, you’re a genius, you should work for Blizzard.
Maybe you got lucky. Ive had my alt leveled to 60 for 3 weeks. For 2 of those 3 weeks its been stuck, Last week i had 8 options on my GV for my alt, this week ill aim for 6, hes already done a full normal raid 2 weeks in a row breaking that 200 wall is tough one, and until you do its harder to get into groups… i had to run with some real trash over multiple groups and raids to clear CN no one else would take it. once you pass that wall your options really do open up significantly, its like being a lvl 59 and migrating to lvl 60. ilvl 200 is where the current game actually starts.
It is my opinion that they only need to fix the great vault so that each level is an additional piece (NOT just a “rng protection”, an actual extra item)
1 m+ = 1
4 = 2 pieces
10 = 3 pieces
Really doesn’t seem excessive and would actually encourage what they want - people playing m+ more seriously
And, honestly, if they opened with that, the reaction woulda been fantastic
I’ll admit that I’ve had much better vault RNG on my alts than on my main (this character, who’s trolled by the vault every single week).
But that said, when you’re sub-200 item level, there’s basically no RNG required. The only way you can get screwed by the vault is if your high item level slot is your legendary, which can happen, but is incredibly unlikely.
I see that on the character you’re posting on, you don’t run M+. Is that the case for your other characters as well? Cause there’s your problem. A +5 will give 210 from vault, a +7 will give 213. That’s laughably easy content, and basically gives a guaranteed 13 or more ilvl upgrade. 7s also drop 200 ilvl from the dungeon itself.
If you’re trying to gear through normal raid, you’re doing it wrong. There’s basically no reason to be doing normal Nathria at this point in the expansion, unless you’re like 180 ilvl and getting speed run through it and fed gear by overgeared people.
yeah not much of a market in M+ for a BM hunter. I do most of my M+ on my alt WW monk. Im at the point now where im trying to transition my alt to being my new main. I basically only run this guy through my guild raid, the act of independently gearing my alt has been slow at best though. Most of my gear on this toon is handed to me from others who dont want it in my guild raid, dont get that luxury in pugs.
If people are kicking you from anything below 13 for being BM, that’s a them problem not a you problem. I’m guessing most people in lower level mythics won’t even notice until the dungeon is halfway over. Just don’t summon your pets until the key is in. EZ Clap.
At a certain point, gearing has to slow down and become more difficult. ilvl 200 is a good place to get your alts to. There’s no reason why someone who is dumping all their time in 1 character should have the same progress as someone who levels multiple characters.
never been kicked from a group, its more just the getting an invite at all.
That’s just the life of being dps in general. Gotta run with guildies, or just spam apply to as many groups as possible. If you don’t have much io, or have a main’s io displayed on your alts, you’re gonna have a much harder time. This character’s io is shown on all of my alts, which greatly increases my chances of being invited.
Yeah dude, blizzard should totally destroy their progression system because you want an army of alts to do world quests with.
My main is sitting at 193 and i have started pushing Heroic.
For the average play this is a non issue.
I do your main sounds like my alts.
alt gearing/progression aint bad at all.
the worst part so far is waiting for the next week for more torghast wings/soul ash
renown is a non-issue every other quest gives you a renown level up when its an alt
I’m working on my first alt and I’m at that 196 ilvl now (took 1 week). That’s the catch up mechanic (plus renown boosts) and I’m glad it will take time to get into that 210+ range. Otherwise everyone would just roll the FOTM class every time there was a new one because there wouldn’t be enough penalty to do so.
Alt gearing is no different than gearing your main, which is the way it should be.
only difference is pvp gear doesnt really cap
by time people get first valor piece upgrade pvpers can have a full set
had both systems be in place since the start tho…
I don’t think the issue is alt gearing, but gearing in general. There is a hard wall at 200. I happen to have 2 Toons at 213 and 5 toons at 200-207
Do you main alliance?
For horde it’s easy to find rbg groups. Took me 15-20 hours to get to 218 ilvl on an alt that I’d started at 180 ilvl. That play time was over 4 weeks though, so I did get 4 vault items and chose a pvp reward every week regardless of ilvl since I’d be able to upgrade it as rating went up.
Try linking the group leader something, past arena or rbg achievement … at 200 ilvl you shouldn’t have trouble getting picked up as long as you’re playing a viable class. I’ve been in plenty of groups that passed up on 220+ players signing up with no or low pvp xp for 200 ilvl moonkins, aff locks or disc priests with good xp.
