First Video Game? When Did you start WoW? Lets Reminisce!

We got to talking about this in another thread. Since it was technically “off topic” for that thread, I figured Id start one about this.

** Lets Reminisce! Before you started WoW. What video Game did you grow up playing? What game snagged you? aka turned you into a Gamer? Also when did you start WoW?**

Anyone here have a good old Atari in their HS/College days? Space invaders and Snoopy Red Barren were my jam. These two games literally made me a Gamer. I only progressed from there

We have come a long way video games wise lol

I started WoW in 2005

I still remember Asteroids as my first arcade game.

On home computers, it was a coleco vision pong and shooting game.

I think I became a gamer when I beat the Starfox 64 alternate route in 30 minutes.

Runner up might be my 3.5 hour 100% run of Metroid Fusion.

My oldest gaming memory is of playing Doctor Mario on the NES when I was around 4 I believe. That was what started it all. Man, that takes me back. :smiling_face_with_tear:

Diablo 2 maybe?
one of the gauntlet games?

not sure there’s any one game, I just kinda grew up watching my older brother play video games, so that naturally rubbed off on me without me actually having a single “gateway game”

Another thread unrelated to WoW in the General Discussions intended for discussing WoW? Say it ain’t so.

[Sarcastically parroting someone else]

I actually don’t care. I was mocking someone else, they’ll know who they are.

The first ever video game I played was Sonic 2, but the game that cemented both my love of games, and a deep love of the oceans despite being terrified of water, was Ecco 1. It remains my favourite game to this day.

Other early formulative games for me would be Phantasy Star 4, and Shining Force 1 and 2. Branching off into PS1 and I would say also Lunar SSSC, Lunar EBC, and the original Spyro trilogy.

Edit: Heh, looking back at it, Ecco prolly contributed to my fear of water. Eh, I still love it though.

The first games I remember playing a lot are Medievil, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, FF7, Super Metroid, Age of Empires, Doom, and Ultima 9. Mind, I was like 3-5 at this point. These games actually helped a little me learn to read pretty early.

Morrowind is my favourite game. It came out when I was 7 and I sunk waaaaay more time than I probably should have into it as a kid.

As for WoW, I wasn’t able to talk my parents into paying the monthly until the middle of BC–early 2007, I think.

Now I want to play some old games. There are so many awesome games that I didn’t mention.

Cheers! :beers:

Had I known “Nostalgia” would be a thing? I would have kept my Original NES and 50+ Games. When I got rid of it you couldn’t give that stuff away. Now everyone wants it and $$ to get it

i think my first one was Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back on the ol family Atari 2600. Had some other games on it as well but that’s the main one i remember playing when lil, i was born in the early 90s so i’m not THAT old, just we had the system in the family for a while lol

Then i been playing WoW since late 2006, but had played WC1-3 before that while growing up.
