That Cho’Gall was only important to WoD and was an antagonist
Pretty sure this is just a fight mechanic. It’s from the “Herald of N’zoth” boss. Normal and heroic versions have her holding open a portal to allow players to escape the insanity realms. Mythic version has her fall victim to the whispers. Seems likely that this just means that in Mythic you only get pulled back once.

Ok, then they wouldn’t have something major happening with her character (like, dying) in a raid most people won’t see. Seems like it’s just a mythic only mechanic to make things harder.
That may have been the case in Legion, but considering how much lore they gave us about Delaryn in such a short amount of time, yeah I’d say she was pretty important to the alliance. the difference though is that you don’t have to deal with characters dangled in front of you as “allies” only for Blizzard to rip them away from you and give them to the other faction.
I’ll feel a little bad beating her up for shinies because I like her character but if it’s the only way to save her from old gods then I’ll do it.
So…the Alliance has Alleria chilling with a Void God in her brain and Thally is the one who succumbs to whispers.

Are… are you serious?
I just don’t understand. I truly don’t. Can the Horde keep ANYTHING for more than half an xpac?
She better come out of this OK.
Well I have always heard that doing drugs causes your body to build resistances to said drugs, so maybe being constantly exposed to the whispers allows her to resist better than one not exposed to them.
Also was Alleria present during the raid?
I am constantly amazed at BFA. Time and time again they write a story that literally no one enjoys.
That takes effort.
Here’s how i see it playing out, if the First Arcanist makes it out of the normal raid perfectly fine, she will be good, and just knocked out and detenticlized in the mythic, if she gets killed (Like what happened to the giant mogu guy in the sha of pride fight) or teleports away after getting corrupted in the regular raid she will die.
Um…
raises a finger
Uh.
Nevermind.
You’re right, shouldn’t assume everyone thinks the same way but…
I gotta ask, as a night elf player what is there to enjoy for you? If anyone has a right to be dissatisfied it’s a night elf player.
Suffering.
I really enjoyed the burning of Teldrassil and the raising of the undead elves. The way they didn’t…quite make sense aside, the presentation was genuinely tragic. I HAD FEELS, which is unusual for me on WoW. Then, in the game proper, Jaina’s arc had the same effect. I stand by both as solid portrayals in the game, even if they don’t quite fit with a larger, coherent story.
On top of that, I just like all the silly, colorful characters like Umbric and Gallywix and the High Tinker. I’m not especially invested in any one faction’s dominance on Azeroth, and I enjoy the individual story beats.

Would like a word with you.
where does this fight take place at?
Bummer. I liked her.
I guess she was death flagged when she chose the Horde. Poor girl.
The Horde is truly the Faction of death.
Looking at it, it looks like it may just be part of a Fight Mechanic for the Mythic Variant of this boss. Seems in the Normal and Heroic modes she manages to get us out of there; the Mythic mode she “succumbs” to the whispers long enough to force the final stage of that fight.
That being said, Thalyssra better come out of this OK. Blizz, you’ve broken enough of the Horde’s toys without ever building up new ones already. We finally get one worth a damned, and you tease she could be lost to the Old Gods? Seriously?! And she’s one of our ONLY magic oriented Representatives to boot? Wasn’t it already very apparent how underpowered the Horde is on that front?
And who here is surprised that yet another Horde leader is getting killed off for seemingly no reason?
