Hunters do seem quite strong. That or I suck.
Last night I did mythic+ as Kyrian arcane. Averaged maybe 10.5k dps at ilevel 267. Not great. Especially compared to the group’s 250 ilevel hunter who averaged over 14k dps for every dungeon.
I’m tempted to give Fire a try, but then I’d have to switch covenants to Night Fae. Ugh!
I love a good challenge and i dislike hunters.
I love my mage and am now pulling 9k dps sustained as fire on bosses. 
ive watched plenty of preheats guides and fixed my aoe and burst. Aoe im pulling 15 to 16k dps.
Survival hunters and Destro locks are just on another levels as far as keys go. Demo locks are the next level down. Then it’s everyone else picking up the scraps and pieces. Don’t feel discouraged by that dps for overall number at all.
Yeah, now single target with my build im usually king. I still have some catching up to do with my raid team. Im sometimes hitting 9k on boss fights sustained, still have some cleaning up to do with my rotation but im making progress.
