Mend Pet won’t out-heal a boss’s damage, and it prevents the hunter from attacking. Hunters can 5 man low level dungeons but they won’t be able to forever, especially since their pets won’t have defense skill and don’t have any real cooldowns or defenses other than being a damage sponge.
It’s also extremely expensive.
