I FINALLY GOT THE MOUNT!! Wasn’t too hard, got scammed by some scumbag cause I paid gold for him to camp the rare for me, but bounced and took me gold. Was on the wow marketplace btw Paid for my education with that one.
Just feels good now that I can put it behind me just in time before my sub runs out in 2 weeks.

If you’re ever curious about how to get it, go to a dead realm, stay by the frozen lake, and make sure you have NPCtimer and a rare tracker addon.
When I first started playing I would meet people and roll a character on their server. At the end of wod I had characters parked on different servers in Storm Peaks, who I would occasionally log into and fly around his flight path once, then log onto the next server. Eventually I saw him.
A few months ago I was in Storm Peaks for some reason on some obscure server and saw him flying around. I logged into a character on area 52 and invited people to join, who were invited to that realm, showed up and killed him.
Happy for you that you got it on your own. Getting that mount is memorable because of the personal investment, paying for it or joining a party would have ruined it! I remember I had WoW on the 2nd monitor, camping on a dead realm with a boosted character. It’d been over a day of having my alt parked there, decided to go for a stroll and found the bugger. Heart racing, I flew over and instantly destroyed it… ahhh was glorious.
No more will I be tormented by hopium when entering that zone…
Thanks for mentioning that! I noticed that bug (it wasn’t just the camera either, the model somehow got bigger so it was basically impossible to ride it around through tight areas) and it caused me to remove it from my favorites list. I assumed it was never getting fixed so I didn’t bother checking after the patch!
