As it stands now; Iridikron is the final boss. Probably will end up being some empowered thing that does a Garrosh on us with some old god remnant I bet.
Ultimately I think there is a shift in their design and they ''plan to set this up so an over arching baddie will be here for the next expansion or so. I doubt it’ll be Iridikron for the multi xpac baddie, he’s basically hitting his crescendo in the next major patch or so before we take him down. In that time I imagine we’ll be made aware of Xal’atath being back and some old god, void lord stuff remerging for 11.0

Not sure if there’s resolution to the Tye story yet - I just came back a month a ago after 2 year…sabbatical…but there was mention of Ysera trying to befriend a certain types of beings that are part of a cosmic force. (The final quest line that is available at 24 Renown with Dragonscale Expedition).
I’m trying to be vague so as not to give spoilers.
At any rate, I feel that that opens up a big loose end that will need tying at some point and it very well could be be during a final patch.
When? We’ve only beaten 1. We’ve lost to 2 others already.

Alexstraza corrupted somehow. Likely by old gods.
She doesn’t even have to be corrupted, I’ll gladly kill her for that cringe phrase she said during her fight with Rasz. “You will not harm the eggs, I protect the life pools!”

Well iridikron stole the very essence of Galakrond …chance we may see that used, maybe further twisted with void magic for a new threat or a perfected Chromatus with all of galakrond’s power and size and endless hunger
