Fighting the Urge to FOTM for M+

I wasnt even looking at the top groups. Just looking at the general specs that are seen in keys 25 and up listed on rio

Is that why it’s been on a steady decline ever since they opened pugging to the entire game instead of within a realm?

LFD is cross realm so I don’t know about “setting myself for it”… and it IS a form a pug, just automated by the game.

This raid tier , and gearing has been much faster in comparison to previous seasons, that does contribute to the raid logging. But the current state of m+ is also contributing to the decline of m+ players. aint no body gonna sit aroud for 4 hours and get declined to keys over and over again.

You should also be angry w/ your fellow Warlocks. 90% of the runs I’ve had with them they’re dead weight and don’t get me wrong, I love Warlocks. Very pro-Warlock. I however don’t trust them anymore atm.

That said, I’ve done a couple runs as the meta comp, it hits totally different. They should strive to make every spec feel that good. If they did that instead of ruining them every time this happens they’d be done w/ it by now.

idk what the right answer is, but every time they make something good they rip it apart and then we’re back in this situation all over again.

Oh yeah no doubt the upgrade track is directly responsible for this season’s feeling of emptiness. I myself haven’t done a single key in the past 3 weeks, even though I’m so close to hitting KSH. I just don’t feel like getting on.

Is possible to make all 39 specs play about the same it terms of performance?

They have all the data to do so, and there’s machine learning, AI, etc. They as a company have the money so yes, within a small % of one another yes.

Doesn’t CC and utility come into play as well?

Definitely. Shadow priest is nowhere in the portrait without mass dispell.

Gear past 20 has always been the same. I don’t think it’s the upgrade path, it’s the fact that the dungeons suck and for some (ie non meta) getting into groups sucks. Gear might have carried the interest for a long time, but now it’s just clear how bad the dungeons and tuning are.

Yup and that complicates it, I would agree if that’s where you’re going.

Dungeon design as well. I’ve recommended they change some of the dungeons this season too. They could largely take Shadow out of the meta with dungeon design alone. There’s other specs that can do the same damage and off-healing, but they don’t have mass dispel and half the dungeons have critical mass dispel points.

They don’t need every spec to do everything, but they do need to be asking every season “why would I bring spec X to this dungeon and why wouldn’t I?”. Ask it enough times across enough people and they can aggregate answers to those questions and determine where short comings are in either spec or dungeon design.

At which point the top keys still take the dps with the utility and the higher 0.001% because at that point it matters.

And also at which point people complain the classes are all the same with different color and ability name, because that’s the only way you achieve perfect balance, it’s with all classes being virtually the same thing.

We responded at the same time, see above.

And 100% of the top key is going to only have 5 specs.

You have a challenge that goes on forever, and gear that stops at a set point. You keep adding weight to the barbell and less and less people will be able to lift it.

So the answer is yes. If IO is your white whale you’re best off going with one of the META specs.

I feel you, as feral it hit that wall a lot sooner. And we all want better balance. But at the extreme end you’re well into realm of perfection is the enemy of good.

Why do you care about keys above +20? Once I have all my portals I’ll be done for the season.

How do you work it out though, the spells has to be magic because it’s a healer thing. Do any other dispell type and the healer may not be able to do it (see all the problem with brackenhide when your healer can’t do poison…).

Nerf their damage and make them non-dispellable. Then they become sustained throughput checks for healers to hit like third boss of HOI.

Impossible because m+ infinitely scales. If there’s no counter play, there comes a point where you just can’t outheal it.

So this is just a problem then right? No one can kill her?
