FFXIV saved WoW People

It reminds me of Palace of the Damned from FFXIV, but for endgame progression rather than leveling

could be worse, could be handing out handing stuff to trick-or-treaters without having any candy…

I gave bananas…

More like FFXIV inspired. Their taking good things from alot of different areas. I like where this is going. Still holding my breath for the flying mechanic

Kind of, but it’s WAY more Castlevania, Symphony of the NIght. Straight up homage to the transition and everything.

I find it fair play considering those games took concepts from WoW to get them started. It’s about time getting with the program and be on par with them. Character customization and etc so I am truly proud of them they we’re getting a good expansion. All that’s left is the talent trees. I don’t want MoP- BFA anymore. I want something close to classic - Tbc with some Wotlk concepts like gathering bonuses. This is how you do a mmorpg!

Forget PotD, Blizzard, how about you copy FF14 and show us you can write a good story.

I saw many Legion type zones mixed with revamp Northrend and even some from Diablo 3

Great to see a top of the line team now working for Blizzard.

WoW took the AH from FFXI. SE still doin things first

Compared to what? I was playing Rogue in 1984, and it had already been around. Nethack was developed around that time, although not yet the bloated thing it is now (they didn’t even have kitchen sinks yet).

Many rpgs and even anime have battle towers. The concept goes back decades, it wasn’t invented in FFXIV.

Borrowing from games is fine. But, these are sign posts directing us to games that did it first and better. It’s not like these games are gone. For instance you like pet battles, say thanks to wow and move on to games that introduced that and focus on that.

It would be good if its true tbh. Put good ideas form other games on yours and adapating it to your gameplay structure is something to be encouraged.

If we’re lucky they’ll ‘borrow’ some ideas for making crafting relevant again from ESO and other games too.

FFXIV still has less players than WoW, a 15 year old game.

Lol you’re the only one being defensive after your claim was refuted as being completely false.

As usual, first post is best post and you can disregard OP.

Uh endless towers are not a new concept that FFXIV came up with quit trying to invent reasons to cry

Blizz always does this kind of thing to compete with the other games. Borrow ideas and themes, release them at the same time, etc.

WoD was basically, “don’t play Wildstar, we have that here too!”

FFXIV is my primary MMO and I can safely say that its a very, VERY good thing that WoW is borrowing this idea from it. I just wish Blizzard would borrow a lot more stuff from FFXIV.

I’m a big fan of FFXIV and think there’s a lot of stuff that it does better than wow. But I definitely wouldn’t attribute Torghast (or whatever the name was) solely to ffxiv. Even if blizz did take if from them, FFXIV took it from other games so it wasn’t their original idea either.
