Well it’s a good damn thing we have spaceforce apparently
Why would he step down? FF14 is still growing and I believe it’s Square’s biggest money maker. At one point it was propping up the entire company lol. There’s a reason why him and a good chunk of Creative Business Unit 3 were brought in to help make 16.
In FFXIV my character would skate across the ground without moving his feet while casting and moving, that straight up doesn’t happen to me in WoW. WoW spell animations also have very crisp start/end points that line up with the cast bar/casting time, In FFXIV I would cast a spell and still be finishing the animation after it went off. It just felt like there was not much coordination between when I pressed my buttons and what my animations were doing, that’s what I meant by floaty, drove me nuts. Felt the same way about GW2 so it’s not just FF.
Beautiful game a lot of other ways though.
I think they just introduced FF14: Harvest Moon lol.
Still only has women cosplaying as monsters as a playable race. FFXIV knows sex sells, but I’m glad WoW at least has a unique pool of races.
However, I’d take the, one person can be all classes feature in an instant from FFXIV.
Nah its not stagnant at all, its a really great formula and it works. WoW is king of constantly changing the game and its always for the worst so I think its pretty smart that yoshi knows to keep things the same or alienate the playerbase.
Funny you think FF14 players don’t notice it, more like they ENJOY it… lol also huge difference story is actually good in 14
Like I said because the game has become increasingly stagnant. Every expansion is the same exact thing. 3 raids and some dungeons (which are pointless outside of story) and then the only thing of any substantial worth the savage and EX 8 man. So out of every major patch you get one, maybe two things that are of any worth and their difficulty is laughable.
They’ve yet to do anything with the MSQ roulette which is the biggest laughing stock in FF14 even amongst its players, pvp is and always has been dead in that game…
Sounds great.
I mean granted this is nonsense but alright lol.
Well yeah, because WoW’s animations are painfully basic. Your entire body doesn’t animate. Just your arms. You may not slide, but your torso also rotates to face your opponent as you strafe to the side. It’s ridiculous. Like running to the right while my character’s torso pretends I’m not moving before throwing my hands up into the air like I’m playing a mobile game.
Also, the armor in WoW will never look as good as games from before WoW like Ultima and SWG. They use two to three geosets for each piece of gear and haven’t made new ones since the game launched. They’re using the same engine as WC3. Everything is archaic. They can’t even make mounts that don’t have your legs clip through them.
Everything about FFXIV is done with more attention to detail and care.
I do agree, the sliding is pretty annoying in FFXIV. But that’s unfortunately the side effect of full body animations.
Funny too WoW is literally just 90% filler and daily/weekly chores but hey FF14 is same every xpac lulkekw, if by same he mean excellent story and fun cinematic dungeons & raids then yes. If you’ve never played the story then I can see why ppl think its just samey crap but also doesn’t rly give ppl a right to judge it when they obviously know nothing but a glance.
Warrior of light does 100% of the work and Y’shtola dies so the pathetic fan boys can get like 3 seconds of nakedness from their waifu. Does that about sum it up?
Necromancer was a job in Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy XI.
Exactly. Because they’re basic, they’re able to line up more precisely with player inputs. And I, personally, prefer basic but precise animations to more elaborate animations that are prone to floatiness and sliding.
That’s why personal taste does matter, and why it’s not purely a question of “X is newer, therefore everything about it is better.” I’m really glad WoW hasn’t updated its combat animations to look more like FFXIV.
Too bad FFXIVs customization(not mogs) is worse than WoWs, and it’s already bad in WoW.
Not sure what you mean by this. Talking about the UI?
No I mean customizing your character’s abilities and stats like with talents or something.
LOL … what the hell did I just watch?!!
I understand some people like this … but … yeah … it’s not for me.
Gotcha. Yeah, that never really bothered me, I understand your point though.
It does happens in WOW, the newest animations like Chaos Strike and Blade Dance lock the character entire body so if you move them around, they’ll perform floaty animation, also happens on Feral.
Something awesome, that’s what.
