So my personal issues with bear is a huge lack of snap threat and swipe not scaling with anything.

Snap threat issue… a couple ways to address this. But please do something.
-Allow Mangle(Bear) and Lacerate to be obtainable at the same time.
-Add a Rune in P2 that grants an ability that addresses our snap threat issues

Swipe not scaling and being garbage… couple suggestions on how you can fix
-Allow swipe to scale with AP like in TBC
-Add a rune P2 that empowers swipe or something
-leave the damage alone and remove target limit making it a full AOE

I am not saying druids cannot tank everything in the game atm what I am saying is its a clunky playstyle AND as the game progresses unless these are addressed in some way it will get MUCH worse…

I honestly don’t wanna hear your opinions about how “I tank on my druid fine idk what your problem is” … again yes we can tank everything… we ARE the lowest tanks in EVERY way atm and the playstyle is clunky AF and I feel like these changes would Improve our situation by a large margin.

The only way a bear can proc Wild Strikes is on white autos… please change this to proc off all bear attacks like almost all other classes.

Lacerate DoT bleed also doesnt scale with ANYTHING and really should scale with something.

The smart bet is no. Obviously anything can change but bear has a much higher mountain to climb to become as good as the good tanks and honestly they may already be at the point they need existing runes to be buffed/reworked and not just buffed through future runes.

You have 4 runes you’d like to run which are on two lots of gear and the pants rune is just completely dead. Additionally raid design so far has very undertuned tank damage which really highlights the problems with bear, major rage issues when you’re not being hit hard enough.

It’s likely p2 will pin both cat and bear in a position where people want them to run LOTP and for personal performance you’ll be better off with some omen/feral hybrid which always kind of sucks too (especially because it means likely another phase of not being able to FF in form).

Other random problems bear has: Can’t use consumes freely Zero aoe threat No cooldowns Very bad damage while tanking Horrible snap threat.

They should make all Druid bleeds and swipe scale with attack power. That would give them a nice boost in DPS and tanking capabilities.

Bear is definitely not a fun tank to play, nothing feels very interesting about it, low damage, no reactive buttons. I made this warr because bear and their runes were kind of a let down. Also bear didn’t actually get a dedicated option for a leg rune right? Wildstrikes is cool but it’s literally only proccing off bear auto attacks, meanwhile my Warrior can proc it off every single instant use attack I have.

Shaman kind of eclipsed bear tank with how tanky they are and how much HP they also get,l. Their threat gen is also completely insane

Warrior does the most damage while still remaining relatively tanky enough and a much better rage gen tank imo.

Paladin has better aoe, less hp, still plenty tanky, and has tricks for ignoring mechanics.

Never seen a rogue yet, and warlock tank seems decent but squishy at least in P1.

Yea man I agree… Move SoTF rune to leg slot so bears can bring WS while taking the Tank rune… and allowing all bear attacks to proc WS… and yea all of our attacks need to scale with something… at some %… cuz having things do the same damage naked or with gear is a little stupid.

If they gave bear a builder ability, that alone would be a night and day difference.

Everything being a spender is part of why they feel bad.

I liked your reply because it is helpful to the thread, however I disagree I think a builder ability would remove 2 much of the classic feel… rage issues will go away at higher level when we get more crit and things start hitting harder… we really just are s*** at this level anyway you look at it

however the issues I have pointed out will just get worse as we level.

In their defense bear tank basically plays the same as era and doesn’t really have any strengths, bringing one is basically wasting your time

Yeah pretty much no point to bring a bear even more now that cat is getting that absolutely insane giga buffed tiger’s fury. Warrior is going to be pumping even harder as well as bringing raid wide utility so they are without a doubt going to be the premiere rage tank.

Bear needs a giga overhaul rune that just changes the spec completely.

It’s a nerfed version of era too without the MCP crutch.

New MCP we’re talking about 50% reduced attack speed for 84% of fights. In a 3 minute fight that’s nearly 30 fewer attacks with the new “automated crowd pummeler”. Adding Wild Strikes attacks in, it’s still ~10 less attacks than the old MCP even. If you add Lacerate too it will get you back to about the same DPS overall, but with a massive reduction in snap threat compared to pre-SoD and a huge difference in rage. This math is for level 60 assuming everything except Battle Squak (so finnicky) is stacked for attack speed Manual Crowd Pummeler + Iron Counterweight + Librams + Glove Enchant + Kiss of the Spider + Warchief’s Blessing.

I love the comments guys keep em coming!!! I really do think Mangle + lacerate will help MASSIVELY for our overall playstyle and address our main issue (snap threat doesnt exist)

Or add a new ability for bear that is a hard hitting high threat instant hit on a 6-12sec CD if for some reason they dont want us to bring mangle debuff while tanking.

but dont over look swipe NEEDING to scale with something!!

this is an easy fix im sure we we make enough noise blizzard will at least see this and have a discussion about it.

Honestly no BS… give us TBC bear and it will work just fine… but as of now our spec is cucked at the very core…

We just cannot keep up with any other tank and its not even close. Low damage low Snap threat… squishy(althou this should go away a bit with dire bear)
