I like Era Classic but I would also be interested in cloning to TBC or starting fresh. I would not however be interested in losing my Era 60 to a TBC server and having all that rep / gear / time feel wasted.
Players that created toons in 2019 are still showing up here in posts wondering what happened to their characters.
They couldnât have foreseen that they would be forcibly moved to TBC-C when they only ever had the intention of staying in Vanilla.
While I would like to believe you and hope my rekindling of Vanilla-era now at least has some permanence, given the companyâs bad track record with regards to customer service, whoâs to say they that this Era really is permanent and they wonât shake things up again by overriding all of Era with some other client?
I no longer trust them, so I no longer put the effort into progression like I was when I came back for 2019.
Clone to TBC would be fun for the raids, theyâre fairly good, I rather like Sunwell and pre-nerf Kara.
It does feel like every gdkp requires 600 warriors. I am glad I havenât bothered with naxx raids since back when my priest was on arcanite reaper (shoutout to The House). Just the occasional trash farm.
I finally got the feral belt from Câthun so now all my characters are done with pre naxx gear. Tbh, I donât feel compelled to do naxx. At most, Iâll rank my priest to 13.
In the unlikely event a progression guild matches up with my messed up work schedule, I may actually raid Naxx. Until then itâs wpvp, bgs, and casually helping friends with attunements.

Until you start raiding and people decide on rare loot.
Unless you got off really well with the main crew and mesh with them without issue and even bring something positive to the group they wont look at you once for loot.
You can be a top 1% parser and know your class over anyone else but unless you can make the GM laugh hard enough you wont get loot.
Granted I was lucky in my guilds⌠People liked me, related with me and I ended up getting prio on loot with a few characters.
We donât get a lot of sources of information for realm populations these days. Unfortunately, the best we can do is ironforge.pro, which tracks raids logged. There are nuances to it that I donât understand, such as how Grobbulus shows 0 pop in spite of logging raids, but as a general tool it can be quite useful.
Hereâs the population trend graph, which lags a couple weeks behindâŚ
https://ironforge.pro/population/era/overall/?locale=EU
From this we can see that the population dipped recently but is otherwise holding steady. People are playing Era, it is absolutely not dead and 6k players is a meaningful amount when you need at most 40 players to tackle content, but as to whether or not itâs growing stronger⌠Iâm not sure we have any data for this yet.
*EDIT: Side note, def not trying to rain on anybodyâs parade, just reporting the facts that we have (as far as I know). What I also know is that Era is awesome, come out and play!
Have no issue with this should Blizz offer it just as Anniversary folk wanting to jump off and head to Era is fine too. Hope players get options.
They just need to make DS and NS their own âeraâ and even consider⌠maybe letting them into the Classic Era BGâs⌠maybe⌠Just depends on if theyâre throwing games or not.
Might as well hook up.

Is that not exactly how it should be? If you want rare loot you need to stand out from everyone else. It would be unreasonable to expect otherwise.
Yes give it to a guy who only raids 2 times a month that makes jokes and makes everyone laugh vs someone whoâs there every week. Makes sense. Good progress.
Yeah I can tell you as someone who runs in the last two non-GDKP Horde Era guilds, that doesnât happen. Unless things are wildly different Alliance side youâre literally just making things up.
Its true but thankfully its like 1 guild on alliance that does this and they reform every 2-3 months under a new name⌠Was in it twice.
Was just stating a general idea that was happening mainly during 2019-2020, sorry.
Once Anniversary transitions to TBC a lot of the âVanilla-onlyâ players will go (back) to Era.
Ps Itâs clique not click, not being a dick here, trying to help.
Oh sure. Back then it definitely happened. But with a smaller population reputation becomes exponentially more important and so things like that tend not to happen.
Thank you for the grammar correction, French is my primary language. I hope Era gets a boost.
This is one of the reasons why smaller pop servers are better than mega servers.
Another is less competition for high level herbs.
Mega seevers really stink to play on. Era server populations feel really good; you should come level, the ability to level trade skills and your character at the same time is kinda nice.
Mega servers are awful but thatâs all weâre gonna see from Blizzard from now on besides Era.
They proved that in SoD when they nuked Chaos Bolt and Lava lash because they were only 2-3 layers instead of 15 layers. They even said that they consider Mega servers the âbest way to enjoy WoWâ because you get instant dungeon groups.
