here’s an 18 dos last week with no NF and plenty of time to spare. i’m by no means an elite player. 
again the game punishes you making you want to take covenant characters
I get what you are saying, you feel you should all be able to pick what you want. Period end of sentence. AND I AGREE. That does not change the fact that you are not being prevented from playing together, you aren’t. You are just refusing to make the VERY MINIMAL sacrifice to do so.

where’s the punishment? that we only 1-chested the key? okay, i guess. but that’s hardly “unplayable”

not sure if i want to choose a different covenant just to be able to perform better.
This is what i meant by the game punishing you for having fun
the covenant player brings a benefit to the group. you dont get it if you don’t bring that covenant.

that’s kind of like saying local restaurants are punishing me by not giving me a veteran discount just because i’m not a veteran
So it’s not about your friends then? They are only your friends if you can maintain what you want to do while being friends? The first time you may have to compromise and you just throw up your hands and say “WELP WE CAN’T PLAY TOGETHER.”

but veteran discounts don’t change the quality of food. covenant benefits change the dungeon significantly sometimes like gargoyles giving you damage buff

Yeah, I will never get why people who claim they want to play together don’t do the tiny thing needed to be able to do it.
All relationships require compromise. Even friendly ones in a video game.

No one would drop a real friend because of covenants. I would drop an acquaintance for low dps number and frequent mechanical failures though.
not when the compromise comes from the game and not the player.
if my friends wanted me to tank or heal that’s different
I’m lost as to what his point is anymore. Went from cliques and drifting apart to being punished for not bringing the right covenant/not playing the meta covenant.
I mean, that should have no bearing on friendships but if that’s barring you from a group, there are other options shrug
