Outside of tuning I am somewhat happy with the windwalker tree but the class tree still has quite a few issues.
The big one is the capstones are so bad I don’t think any spec runs them outside of few niche situations. This definitely needs to be addressed.

As bland and boring as it may be they need to give the statues back to their respective classes baseline and add some kind of passive to the capstones. WTS (still not gonna get use to that shorthand term for it) really needs to just be put in the trashbin and forgotten about. WW does in no way need yet another 2m cooldown that suffers from any kind of fight movement the same way Stomp has. Just doesn’t feel good.

Problem with this statue is it will either be mandatory for all 3 specs or just flat out not taken. It definitely should be removed or made baseline for ww and adjusted accordingly for mass AoE.

The statue might be aesthetically thematic but ultimately this ability is so counter to a WW monks play style that its shocking it made it this far.
I’m not sure which dev suggested, played with it and then kept it but it blows my mind just thinking that there is anyone who thinks there is any synergy between a statue and a class that boasts mobility / fighting on the move.
If they really want to keep the statue it needs to have a function that lets you move its placement multiple times within its effective window, however I would recommend removing it entirely and replacing it with one of the many better ideas that have been shared on these forums. Martial Styles is one I keep harping on about.

Oh cool there was a talent shuffle/change for the WW tree. Aaaaannd it still has the same problems.
RNG/Gimmicks are still gonna determine our AoE instead of just raw numbers (i.e MotC and FoF like they were in Legion). The last row of our talents is still bloated and several of the talents could be fused, redone, or removed.
And for the main monk tree, it’s still odd that soothing mist is the first talent on the left. Expel Harm would make significantly more sense.
People like you and me just need to accept that people like the class dev are just smarter than us and have a better vision for Monk than our tiny brains, which likely have the collective experience of 20 years with the class, could possibly understand.
I quit Monk halfway through BFA after seeing design direction. Keep coming back. Keep being disappointed.

It’s true, my tiny brain can’t even fathom why the put Hit Combo in our tree.
EDIT: also, while I’m on Hit Combo, why didn’t they just make it like our current tier but reduce the charges and required hits.
After 5 consecutive combo strikes your next ability does 20% more damage (and provides the mastery bonus, regardless of duplication). Makes way more sense than Hit Combo, still requires skill/planning, isn’t a direct rip from our mastery and might actually feel good to use.

I wouldn’t mind it if they removed hit combo and move whirling dragon punch up in its place instead.

If anything they just need to replace Hit Combo with Crosswinds since it is now on the right side of the tree. Cause again, Hit Combo is in no way a test of player skill as the devs seem to think it is.

I think that I would be okay with Hit Combo if it wasn’t literally a carbon copy of our mastery.
+1 to adding crosswinds somehow
Mostly just here to say, yeah, please get rid of the statue. Or make it so it gets replaced by Invoke Xuen “if” you talent that. I already can kind of take or leave Xuen as a talent choice, but if I literally have to summon something…

Don’t forget that if you skip Xuen in the spec tree that you’re basically locking yourself out of 4 talents (Xuen’s Bond, Fury of Xuen, Empowered Tiger Lightning, and Invoker’s Delight) which feels bad

Which is some garbage, yes. Particularly since I mean uhhh… Bonedust Brew? Feyline stomp? Yeah, they have their uses, but they’re not Windwalker at its core. Almost all the stuff behind Xuen has been mainstay stuff we’ve built around since Legion.

so in the last build strike of the wind lord got a huge damage nerf…
It will be 250%+150% of your attack power, before was 930%+930%
So it seems it will do less damage than BoK (and BoK can strike 4 times now) and cost 2 chi, like wtf!?!?
I dont think it was ever operating at 930% to be honest. It could just be a correction of the tooltip.
if it is actually that big of a nerf then not taking it will become an easy choice.

You’re rigth, skiping them will be an easy choice, the problem is that I really like this abillity xD, never was a fan of FoF since legion (only if they put crosswind back) so a big “instant” damage beside RsK will be a go for me (anyway don’t put draon punch on this, I hate this skill so much)
SotWL was never doing 930%. It still does pitiful damage with the new build but since thunderfist still hits like a truck you will still be taking it.

Why is Windwalking, the General Monk Class Talent, harder to access for Windwalker Monks than the mobility in both General and Fury trees for Warrior?
These are the questions of our times.

Because they don’t understand the class and spec. And the big streamers are warrior. It’s an easy class for them to understand and they make sure to keep them happy.

Guys. I also prefer not to have invoke xuen if I can and I can see that we can choose not to take it. However I will need to take Xuen Bond and Empowered Tiger Lightning on my way to other talents like capacitor. Will these two talents be wasted points if we do not take Invoke Xuen or will it changes into something that benefits us in some other ways if we do not take invoke xuen?
