FEEDBACK: Warlocks (Midnight)

If the current way it’s being shown is the whole system then they should have just let Foul Mouth be a talent and stopped there without all this extra garbage.

My only hope is that there’s more to the system that’s not being shown yet because there are other “Pacts” throughout the tree. I’m assuming the crit chance and haste are placeholders because they’re flagged “NYI”

Forcing Demonic Resilience as a mandatory talent to path through feels bad considering it’s useless in PvE outside of solo content. I would replace the reduced chance to be crit with some other defensive benefit instead.

I hope so. % haste/crit is about as boring as it could get for a talent node

It does also reduce the damage your demon takes…

Though it looks like they’re nerfing that despite moving it up the tree, in Midnight…

(I accidentally posted this in the wrong thread earlier.)

A few ideas for the Demo tree.

  • A Wormtongue demon who can be sent to grab loot, something like the Fetch ability for hunter pets. Or heck, given how crazy things are going, let the little bugger be a repair vendor on 5 minute CD for anyone in the party, rather than a ranged loot button.

  • An Eredar caster short summon who attacks from range with magic instead of jumping into melee… might have a mini-rotation of their own they do once or twice, instead of just spamming spells, like maybe toss in a DOT and then a bolt and then an AOE. There are so many variations in game that Blizz would have no trouble putting options in the barber shop, male and female. Heck, make it a split choice between “Eredar felcaster” or “Eredar voidcaster”, even if they’re almost the same the different aesthetics would be quite fun, and leaning more void would fit the expansion

  • Split Implosion and all its upgrades and Power Siphon into one side branch that doesn’t block anything else… and a set of talents that buff your Imps (not sure about other demons) off on another side branch far side or whatever, that doesn’t involve killing your own minions but instead involves making them better.

  • Keep the normal Felguard under the basic spellbook and keep GFG

  • Keep Corruption or one of the instant cast DOTs, don’t make HOG a replacement for it.

  • Make Eye of Guldan a non-blocking talent point spend, so that it’s optional… personally I hate the concept of EoG and don’t want it.

PS – I liked the idea earlier that someone had, of “summon” being your main demon, and “call” being all the short-summon casts

I really don’t see the need to have corruption as a demonology lock tbh, like if I have the option to never have to press that ability ever again as demonology I would choose to nuke it from that spec. I would rather they gave some form of instant pulsing aoe like hellfire to satisfy the needs of people farming old content (or just swap specs guys).

The nice thing about a spell being in a spec’s book… is that you don’t HAVE to use it, but other people can choose to.

The rotten thing about a spell not being in a spec’s book… is that no one can use it.

Frankly I’d rather have Corruption or another instant-cast DOT… over all the curses, or banish, given their relative usefulness IME.

I’m very annoyed they overhauled (and gutted) demo because “using implosion is confusing” and yet, their new design IS STILL CONFUSING.

Who over there is in charge of these changes? Like what are we doing?

We do all these drastic changes and dumb down the spec significantly, and we’re still left asking the question “when do I implode?”

Are we really fixing the issue or just making the spec worse?

If Implosion was that confusing and hard to design around… they should have just gotten rid of Implosion and made Bilescourge Bombers our main AoE.

As mentioned by others already, the bottom of the Destruction tree needs serious revision. Nearly everything there feels worse than the current iteration of the tree in TWW- especially the loss of Decimation and Ritual of Ruin. Why remove what isn’t broken? These talents were fun and enjoyed by the majority playing the spec.

Losing ritual of ruin will hit destro really hard in PvP if there isn’t a replacement. That talent is like 90% of destructions kill power in PvP. Without it their damage takes too long and is too easy to shut down

I’d really love to have something like this!

Add to this list:

  • Supreme Will… some sort of resistance / reduction when hit with Fear and other mind-controlling effects… could go on the class tree or the Demo tree.

After playing Legion Remix… Twisted Crusade and Call of the Legion should definitely find their way into the Demonology tree. Of course not nearly as powerful and the durations could be adjusted. The thematic of it feels amazing as a Demo Lock in Remix though.

Would probably need to retool it to be a 2 minute CD with a 20 sec duration. Then have the Call of the Legion part occur during the actual Dreadlord summon itself and it’s a banger CD

Very in-depth and good feedback, still reading through it and some of these changes, I’m liking.

Thanks! I think they are moving in the right direction, and I’m definitely excited for change – they just have a long way to go to really iron out some of the issues (not to mention a monumental challenge of making the base ui readable for our class).

What do you think of bring Decimation Bolt back? We could have a nod option with Bilescourge for aoe and Decimation bolt for single and maybe use the legendary effect and conduits as other talents.

Other cool effects that I would love to have:
Season 2 TWW set: Casting Hand of Gul’dan causes your active Dreadstalkers to cast Dreadbite at 20% effectiveness.

Season 1 DF set: Demonbolt has a chance to make your next Hand of Gul’dan instant and deal 50% increased damage.

It’s nice for tagging mobs, but otherwise I agree with you. It’s not needed

This Affliction feedback is on point. ‘Dark Harvest’ and ‘Cull The Weak talents’ enhancing our periodic effect tick-rate rather than extending their durations could solve so much clunkiness.

Even something as simple as the ‘Dark Harvest/Cull The Weak’ talents casting a free Unstable Affliction at a nearby enemy each time it deals damage would be a net-win and not force us into hoarding Soul Shards for the window.

‘Summon Darkglare’ acting as a periodic-effect empowerment would also be great, instead of simply extending durations. Could have tonnes of possibilities, ‘While active, your Darkglare’:

  • ‘increases the critical strike chance and critical strike damage of Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction by 20%, and causes them to deal their damage 20% faster.’
  • 'causes your Agony and Unstable Affliction casts to spread to up to 4 additional nearby enemies.
  • ‘causes Unstable Affliction and Sow The Seeds to be instant cast and spread to 4 additional nearby enemies.’
  • ‘causes you to gain a Soul Shard every 4 seconds.’
  • ‘causes Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction to deal an additional 10% of their damage in an area around the enemy.’
  • ‘makes Malefic Grasp always active and drain an additional 4 targets.’
  • ‘causes nearby enemies to suffer 10% increased damage from Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction, and the target of it’s direct attack’s to suffer an additional 10%.’

And these are random suggestions written in 30 seconds (yes I know it shows). Noodle-nose could be a great cooldown but while it’s stuck extending effects by a measly 8 seconds (typically one of which being Corruption which will have Absolute making it never ending anyway), it just falls so flat.

I would like to add us there a reason why black harvest is gate keeping dark pact, what happens when as destro/affliction when you sacrifice your pet for its ability.

This is what I mean when things are not thought fully thru. That talent not only is it already borderline useless to begin with but now you have to waste a point in order to get your defensive if you sacrifice your pet.

Also the stance design for the curses DO NOT WORK, devs you said you did this to eliminate keybinds but with those stances you have to add additional keybinds to make it work. Why even change it to begin with.

Like I’m not sure how the putting black harvest to gate it in order to get dark pact seems I don’t know kinda petty…who does that. There’s no way they didn’t see that…

What devs are you going to force banish as well and put it in front of the unending resolve abilities.
