[Feedback] Upcoming Xmog restrictions being lifted

Unfortunately this doesn’t apply for the much cooler, blue and purple Monk outfit from the starting area (the white set you get after the starting one, IIRC) that one is my favorite two colors but I can’t use them as transmog -_-

could you link, im not seeing it

Most important for me, as others have already noted, would be unlocking the Legion artifacts across specs. I’d also like hide gloves/bracers and holiday cosmetic items year round.

Cross-spec artifact transmog and less restrictions on weapons in general would be the biggest for me. Also: year-round seasonal mogs. Please, I want my flower crowns!

The unmarred set.

No problem my dude! This also works with any of the other class boost sets!

Honestly, it’s time they allow us to mog White/Grey gear.

Moggable white armor.

Hide gloves.

Seasonal stuff mogged any time of year.

Cross spec on artfact weapon mogs.

Those are the main ones for me.

The biggest implication for hiding chest isn’t boobs n’ peks for me. It’s shirts!

YES! Finally we can wear shirts!
Waited this for a decade. No, seriously.

So, first let me say that I am very excited at hearing that the Transmog system is getting looked at in general. That vague news alone has me hyped quite a bit and thinking about what it could mean in the long run. Since its inception there have been several other MMO’s to come to market with transmog and many of them have handled transmog in very interesting ways in terms of restrictions and application.

Recently, Blizzard has been making some fantastic changes such as allowing you to transmog other weapons into Fist Weapons and vice versa. The announcement of being able to hide Chest Armor next patch will also be fantastic for many of of the races who have cool chest tattoos and such.

I will say that I personally really feel that Gloves deserve the hidden treatment as well for a couple of reasons. The first reason being that Gloves act funny with several chest pieces and shirts where they overlap the unique cuffs on the sleeves. Not to mention there are TONS of cool Bracer designs that you never get to see because they are always hidden by Gloves.

I honestly hope that the Development team considers allowing the ability to hide gloves in addition to Chest Armor in 8.2

In terms of General changes, I think its time that Level Restrictions for transmog be abolished finally. Let us use the transmog we have earned on our alts. The eased restrictions in 7.3.5 have been, from what I have seen, very well received and I personally believe that just flat out removing the level restrictions to transmog would really allow players to express themselves more while leveling!

I am excited to hear what Blizzard is planning to do with Transmog going forward. I personally think its time for a major revamp to the system, a Transmog 2.0 as it were. Being able to transmog slots instead of items directly so that when you get a new piece of gear you don’t need to transmog the new piece, games like ESO do this with their Transmog system and it works well. I also think we are past due for a proper way to transmog Druid Forms, and shaman ghost wolf forms, without them being attached to weapons, glyphs, ect. as well as a way to finally get the Fire Kitty form without the use of seeds.

Possibly an easier way to handle spell transmog as well such as the Green Warlock Fire while also laying the foundation for the possibility of future spell “transmog”.

Anyway, super hyped to hear that Transmog is getting looked over and I can not wait to see what comes of it

Blizzard is going to bathe in that sweet sweet gender change money.

The world finally gets to bask in my Goblin’s muscular green glory. Rejoice, whelps. The guns I can make with engineering pale in comparison to the ones attached to my shoulders.

I think they should drop all transmog limitations on type of Armor worn. Its an illusion, a paladin wearing cloth isn’t whats happening, its an illusion. Especially since so much cloth/leather/mail/plate often look like or incorporate the other types. Cloth shoulders i’m looking at you >.> Most complaints about transmog limitations for armor can be whisked away with a simple “its an illusion” so I think it’ll happen eventually.

For the heirloom system I wish gear you obtain while leveling will scale with you for 5 levels after obtaining since we level so fast anyway. I’d rather have loot tables for both dungeons and outdoor random drops increased greatly. New super rare epic drops like that Deadmans Hand ring would make things interesting as well.

Taking limitations off things like the fish and rolling pins are a good step in the right direction. Things like letting a 2h be transmogged to DW or 1h/shield clearly has a few issues though.

I think keeping the limited window of obtaining certain things is a good idea though. It helps some people feel good about their account when they have things noone else can get now. I say add more gear instead of begging for a few we already had in the past.

The holiday things being limited to holidays is silly as well.

Let the other 2 rogue specs use swords. Daggers are all hideous that’s the only reason I play outlaw rogue. Mage tower should remain locked. Other artifacts locked to class but not spec. Tier sets should be locked to class but can use any level.

Let all characters of all classes learn all transmogs for all item types. If you pick it up, you get appearance credit for it, even if you can’t use it on that character due to class or other specific restrictions.

  1. Make even the white gear; vendor purchasable, quest reward, crafted, or otherwise into transmogs. Even the stuff you can buy from vendors looks good and has use.

  2. Allow all classes to transmog all types of gear they can equip. Sulfuras, for example. My shaman can equip and use 2H hammers but didn’t get appearance credit for it when he equipped it. Had I known that ahead of time and equipped it on a warrior I’d be able to use the item itself AND have appearance credit for transmogs. Restrictions like this come across as completely arbitrary and pointless, not to mention are extremely frustrating.

Along these lines, it’s becoming more and more frustrating to lose more and more bank slots to gear I want to use for various outfits (Yes, I’m an RPer) on characters that can equip an item, but aren’t able to transmog them because they’re not the “right” type of armor for that class; ie, cloth outfits on a Rogue, etc.

  1. Level 60 PvP gear. I earned that stuff in Vanilla and BC when they became available for honor, yet now I can’t transmog them because I didn’t participate in the EXTREMELY UNHEALTHY rank grind of the time. The dev team at the time felt it was sufficient effort to earn the required honor to get that gear in the first place but now, 12 years later it’s not? Bad decision; especially when nearly all later PvP set appearances are available for 12 Marks of Honor.
