PVP in classic is by far a better PVP experience, you don’t get that horrible instant kill game play, people have a chance to fight back. Just look at all the classic and hardcore videos of people duelling, it’s by far better than the 3 seconds of fighting we can get from retail.
And that’s not all a PVP issue, it’s a by product of the game having soo much one shot capabilities, even if they slowed down PVP combat by reducing player power by like 50% or something it might get more people trying it, because one of the reasons I don’t play is that if you make one wrong move, target the wrong person, miss a defensive you just die and that’s really not fun.
such a waste. everyone knew exactly what they were signing up for when bothering with classic arena and all of the downsides that come with it. Now they want to completely change it (which is much beyond a #somechanges as this is entirely new system that was not present in classic, nor is it present in retail) just because they’re sad their little mini-game mode is completely dead and has been since tbc classic minimum?
I don’t understand why they simply can’t fathom that, despite these changes, people simply do not want to queue a solved gamemode that has glaring/unfun design issues and balance. Retail arena is 1000% better in every way, especially as we get closer to retail-esque expansions.
2 v 2 having stuff stripped out was due to spam by fotd (flavor of the decade…lol) meta comps.
that existed since there was not much “git gud” against them. It was the easier rank up get title route. 3’s at least added 3rd variable to the equation. that could better counter the crap fotd 2 v 2 pulled.
For example…if one wanted and would like to see the future of tbc anniversary not even out yet…google how TBCC went. or TBC part 1. Either would work. They were the same.
Personally for me the biggest turnoff with rated PvP is the toxicity and the seriousness behind it. You can rework it as much as you want, add all the QoL bells and whistles, but that will never change the unsavory environment it naturally is with competition involved.
For the record, I adore classic PvP, but only non-rated stuff like random BGs, skirmishes, and world PvP. I don’t touch rated because it feels like I’m entering an entirely different ball game.
PvP is a minigame.
E-sports are a joke.
PvP would be more fun if you could actively dodge, parry, or block attacks not in the passive chance kind of way, actually moving out of the way or raising my weapon to stop an attack. I dont generally like MMO PvP because everything is lock on target, as others have said you simply use a stun ability on someone and they are stunned.
