You want to press bladestorm when you want to use it, not when your group needs to chain buffs.
Bladestorm has definitely had some conflicts with fury in the past, most notably working around the enrage buff duration.
Itâs things that could be fixed but they just never did in the past.
Personally I think Bladestorm is very iconic for both specs but they absolutely need to put some work into making sure Bladestorm feels both strong and flows smoothly with enrage for it to feel good to press as Fury.
Hot take but, I disagree. Bladestorm is a thematic ability I love as arms, I do dislike being rooted in place though for demolish.

This tree is legit awesome, almost makes me want to reroll to warrior.
I would rather they get rid of the channel on demolish for sure and leave bladestorm as is. I just cant comprehend BOTH hero trees having a focus on channeled attacks.
Thinking upon it some, if they want the âslayerâ fantasy focus around execute, i could get behind that. For every mob you get a killing blow on, you proc a mini lust, or for every x sudden procs you proc mini lust. Addresses a few of our utility issues plus feeds into the slayer theme. Im just feeling gimmicky dps carrots on a stick aint gonna do itâŚ
From a pvp perspective slayer adds a LOT
And in M+ sorta, between getting out roots/slows with charge, more bladestorm uptime means immune to CC and movement speed+str (and slows if pvp) on top of making a thing take more damage for 10 seconds just for doing your damage rotation.
Not to mention the consistency already of sudden death procs giving you a self healing option for pvp. Bladestorming letting you kick and stun still. Slayer has a LOT more going on then just raw damage.
For party mechanics, its just dps. If its just dps, means it will be tuned to mediocre. Call me when these abilities actually add something new to the class. I mean i get what you are saying but i dont see anything other than dps here.
Group utility should be tied to the class or class talents, not the specific spec talents.
Perhaps I should clarify. What specific utility do you feel warrior is missing you would like to see? I think everyone agrees utility usually makes the flavor of classes and the contributes to the skill curve being fun and exciting seeing a class that knows how to use ROP for example and what monks do not.
Rather then a paintbrush statement âWe need more utilityâ What would you suggest from what you feel is missing for the theme?
I donât entirely understand what the slayer theme is. Feels like itâs stuck in the arms world with calculated giant strikes via a couple of stacking debuffs? Total casual perspective here, but bladestorm is an obnoxious ability that Iâm glad to not have in fury. I kind of hate that itâs required for this tree AND that it would go off randomly. Why canât slayer function with odynâs fury or ravager for fury and bladestorm for arms rather than homogenizing both specs? Fury has 20-point abilities already - why do we need to take from arms?
I donât know. Now I can be a dwarf themed lightning elf or bladestorm A LOT? Yeah, just kind of hate it. Probably an unpopular opinion, but hero talents are doing less and less for me as more come out. Disappointing.

I would not look for nor suggest that any major group utility be added through the hero talents, as that would make them truly unbalanceable. Itâs one thing if Mountain Thane warriors do a few % lower damage than Slayer warrior, or vice versa. One of those is an inevitability.
Itâs another thing entirely if Slayer gives warriors some sort of group bloodlust effect and Mountain Thane does not. In that case, Mountain Thane would have to do significantly more damage to ever be considered over Slayer. One solution to that is to add a similar type of group utility to the other warrior hero talent trees so that kind of gap isnât so egregious, but if youâre going to do that, just add that utility to the class/spec trees.
We already know the trees are getting shuffled around some amount in TWW, might as well just wait till we get more info about what that entails and see the new layout before panicking that thereâs still no group utility.

Could it please be clarified: The âOverwhelmedâ debuff from Overwhelming Blades only increases damage taken by the target from the Warrior, right?
Kind of dissapointed with Slayer.
1.) Passive Gameplay. A lot of these talents are just augmenting things both Arms and Fury already do. While this is important for players that donât want to play Colossus or Mountain Thane (which ask more from the players of their respective trees), itâs not super exciting for me. To add on, there doesnât appear to be anything cosmetically that gets added for picking this hero talent tree.
2.) Death Drive granting healing as way to augment defenses feels kind of bad since you have no control over these effects. Perhaps a portion of this could be a shield so that it has some innate bonus for when youâre full health.
3.) This point could be a non-factor if Arms is reworked, but once Execute Phase Arms losses a lot of these benefits (Frentic Fury, Slayerâs Focus, and Slayerâs Reflex/Constant Pressure) as Overpower is deproritizied.
Lastly Iâm not a fan of Fury gaining access to Bladestorm. Arms as a spec struggles with identity (visually and gameplay wise) and Bladestorm was one of the few unique tools that was made exclusive again in Dragonflight. Iâd much rather see this just be Ravager for Fury and leave Bladestorm arms specific.
Edit: Forgot to mention the mobility stuff is actually really sick and Iâm glad that its emphasized in really cool ways with Relentless Pursit and Vicious Agility!
What could be cool is if they let us delve into the barbarian fantasy, the less armor we have on the more damage and mobility we get. Im just bored forced into a dinner with wifey and her friends! Heeelp!
