With the Midnight expansion, the War Supply Crate drops have become nearly impossible to contest for anyone not on a dominant shard. The return of the slow parachute system has completely killed the “ninja” aspect of world PvP, and it needs to be reverted to the way it functioned in The War Within.
The Problem: The “Beacon” Effect
In The War Within, the crates dropped much faster. You had to actually follow the plane and be on your toes to get the loot. Now, the parachute makes the crate a giant beacon in the sky for 3–5 minutes. This gives the dominant faction on a shard more than enough time to mass up en-masse at the landing site.
Shard Imbalance is Killing the Fun
For those of us stuck on opposite-dominated shards for a week at a time, the parachute ensures we will NEVER get a drop. There is no longer a window to use stealth, speed, or clever positioning to “ninja” the crate because the entire zone has a five-minute head start to camp the impact zone.
The Solution:
Remove the Parachute: Go back to the TWW style where the crate drops quickly.
Reward Activity, Not Camping: Faster drops reward players who are actively tracking the plane, rather than groups who just wait for a slow-moving icon to land in their laps.
If we want World PvP to feel alive for both factions, we need to bring back the ability for small groups or solo players to actually contest these drops through speed and surprise. Right now, it’s just a “Zerg” simulator.
The parachute is much, much better imo. Without it you would just have people get lucky on a fast drop and cap it before wpvp actually happens lol. The zones are just too big for this. I don’t think we want to reward people who have all the addons and the prep either, wpvp needs to be spontaneous to succeed imo.
Are you referring to my proper composition and grammar or that I proofread my content? I wrote this and cared enough to structure it. Thank you for your constructive criticism.
It’s actually great when “real pvp happens” during these crate engagements but in my own experience it’s quite rare and it’s usually a raid or outnumbered faction that wins by default..
So… don’t proofread or research and don’t structure forum posts so that they are succinct and direct to the point? I’m not sure what your point is here. Using tools literally included in the latest MS Office software to compose a post here is now ‘Ai Slop?’ The crate parachute nonsense is garbage. If you are trapped in the wrong shard you wont get a crate for days. You can reach conquest cap on one faction in a few hours. And on the other faction it can take a week. That’s not fair or fun. Is that better?
Structured posts like that are incredibly reminiscent of what AI spits out since you can get AI to agree with you on pretty much any game topic with the right prompt.
On the topic though, I have seen more wpvp happen because of the slow drop. It might be the time of day im in a crate raid though. Regardless, I see crate groups for horde and alliance consistently and they are your best bet of winning a crate to cap.
GPT Zero, an online tool to detect AI, has your extremely short post siting at 95% AI generated. That means out of the 266 words in your post you only contributed 13. Stop trying to play it off as original. Having to use AI to write a forum post is insane lol.
YOu know sitting around running people’s posts through AI detectors and then posting the percentages makes you more annoying than that person using AI to help them write? You do know that right?
They know all of this. Just appears to be nothing more than slowing progress a bit. The principle truly has no legs on what is claimed. Their game, they will do what they wish.
