most survival hunters I’ve met (including myself) don’t take butchery or carve, and by the looks of it covering fire and scattered prey is going to be useless or mandatory. with alternative forms of Aoe in survival hunter I feel like keeping butchery/carve as optional and changing the choice node to reflect that would benefit the players.

It’s an absolute crime that you removed Stampede. Why drop Stampede but keep Glaive? It doesn’t make any sense.
As cool as it is thematically, Stampede never quite worked. And especially with it now being a choice node with the ‘objectively better in pretty much every way’ Death Chakram, Stampede has spent the past few years going almost completely unused. Not surprising they finally decided to cut it loose.
Old stampede is functionally call of the wild. New stampede(that we lost) is aground effect that they were never brave enough to make big enough or hit hard enough to matter
Pack Leader is still pretty much nonexistent visually. The new Hati/Fenryr summon would be a great place to pull inspiration from. Perhaps summoning Har’Koa (Loque’nahaks Loa mate), Skoll also exists as another option with a tie to Hati and Fenryr both great choices for champions instead of 6 seconds of another dire beast?
It needs something visually striking and right now it just doesnt have it.
It’s too bad Blizzard didn’t give a revised version of Stampede as PL final talent. Something like Vicious Hunter builds up stacks that once it hits max. All five of your pets are called at once in a burst attack.

Just a suggestion, But the choice node for Furious assault and Beast of Opportunity doesn’t feel like its a real choice node. Beast of Opportunity seems like such a fun talent to play with but it seems very underwhelming compared to the strength of Furious Assault. I feel like either reworking it to have a chance to refresh it or maybe tie it to something other than Coordinated Assault for survival might make it more impactful?
Having it tie to maybe something like Sentinel’s capstone where every 15 seconds the next mongoose bite/raptor strike summons one for six seconds? or something like when Kill Command resets it has a chance to summon a pet for the duration?
I really like the idea of pack leader being able to “Lead a pack” so I feel like being able to summon more pets in combat would be a great alternative to what we currently have. Probably more flavorful.
My second idea is to make it the new capstone, maybe have some way to interact with the summoned pet once Coordinated assault is activated? like kill command extends the duration of the summoned beast by a second?
It’s incredibly disappointing to see the current state of the Beast Mastery Hunter class. The AoE capabilities are severely lacking, with Beast Cleave on the global cooldown making it clunky and ineffective in high-pressure situations. This is a fundamental flaw for a class that should excel in swarming enemies with pets. Pack Leader feels almost useless in most scenarios, offering little to no value in both PvE and PvP content.
The current design seems to misunderstand the core fantasy of the BM Hunter. This spec should be about commanding a ferocious pack of beasts to tear through enemies, not juggling a poorly designed stack management system. Why are we being pushed into a direction that feels more like a DoT class?
Beast hunter AOE is probably in the worst shape I have ever seen it. Especially, short burst and pack leader.
How this iteration of Beastmastery Hunter ever made it to live servers is bewildering to me, hunters are at the moment the 2nd most played class at level 80, bested only by paladins. Thats a very large portion of players that just isnt cared about… at all!
The upcoming buff to Vicious Hunt by 10% for BM is like pouring gasoline on a fire to put it out. The specc isnt working. The AoE is non existant, even healers do more. Like it cant go unnoticed to you that this is happening? Something is clearly wrong. Please fix this before Heroic week…
These buffs are a joke when they nerfed targeted Kill Command by 20%, Barbed Shot by 25%, Lacerate was gutted to 5%, stomp, smack and pet melee attack by 10% and Hunter Masters call Fenryr dmg by 33%. How is 10% to Vicious Hunt supposed to make up for all that dmg loss? Nerfing kill command directly impacts our AOE as well as stomp. If anything, what should happen is Call of the Wild needs to be reduced to a one-minute CD. At least that way we have some AOE potential, but this is also dependent on how big the pull is. Other classes have most of their CDs at one minute. Something needs to change here. Killing this spec one week before the expansion drop is beyond wrong for the player base that enjoys BM. Every class should be able to perform and bring the skills to the table. In what Blizzard has done will only lead to the total disregard of BM Hunters in M+ and be shunned like we were in most of Shadowlands.
ST seems fine I am usually 1 or 2 in heroic dungeon but AoE? Yea I am fighting for healer damage. Such a joke.
Mentioned this in another thread, but buffing multi-shot while giving it a cooldown would help the aoe. The damage it does currently is a joke, and it’s absolutely flavorless. It’s just a void of fun. By buffing the damage and giving it a cooldown, it doesn’t make BC too powerful, and also makes casting multi-shot more fun, but also ensures you can’t just spam it without worrying about pet positioning for BC.
it needs to be off gcd or just taken out of the game its horrible bm as a whole is awful why is it a dot bleed class where i have to constantly stact barb shots to be worth a f*** its horrible
Buffing Multi shot dmg and giving it a CD with the same duration as BC would be nice - wouldn’t need a weak aura to track it so up - time would be near perfect which would increase AOE.
People come up with weird ideas for buffing aoe, buffing multi shot wouldnt do anything. 1 minute cotw? You just revert the nerfs they did before and you nerf basilisk collar, our st stays the same and aoe goes up. Literally the easiest fix. Our aoe is in the trash because of Basilisk collar, we can put like 7 dots on a single target, but only 1-2 on everything else.
