Feedback: Hunters

wut. Obvious troll.

Feel free to correct me? I am possibly reading it wrong. I play hunters to collect groups of pets based on a theme. I doubt im the only one. If i need to use bloodlust on my undead hunter, i would want my undead wolf doing the honors, not “pet owned by rexxar” or “random eagle”.

No.

It’s a choice node. You can select one buffed pet or two pets.

Wrong. It’s just Pack Leader hero class rework. Survival’s pet doesn’t change.

Yeah, that, kinda.

They said they are looking into it, but have no info on that for now.

Thank you for clarifying, i feel better about that now. Kinda. Im glad i can sitll have two pets as BM. and one customizable one for Survival.

Still would want to customize my rexxar flavored pets and the eagle. It’s not exactly like Hati and Fenryr, because they’re still out in the wild, so to speak.

Crazy how easy it could be, and how overcomplicated they decided to go… while making both the Pet and No Pet camps unhappy.

The definition of “marksman” doesn’t exclude pet ownership.

A small penalty has no real effect on any open world, outdoor, delve or whatever content - we literally have this right now. It makes it so for raids and dungeons you would never summon it and you get your petless archer build for progression and competitive content but keep pets for the rest of the game.

We have a 5% penalty for not using pets right now? I thought Lone Wolf was +5% more dmg not -5% dmg for having one out. Outdoor and delve content will have little to no effect. I play a good amount of Survival. I turn growl off when facing tougher rares because my pet dies if I don’t. Brann is getting tank spec for delves. There are plenty of specs in the game that don’t need pets. I know as MM I kill anything before it even gets to me like 90% of the time.

The fact MM hunter will be able to lust, have a 3% DR and 5% more hp all at the same time is incredible. Look at the tradeoffs and the positives. Looks great to me.

Which means absolutely nothing to classes that can’t heal him. Like Hunters.

These are both downgrades from leech. Being able to heal yourself is better than taking slightly less damage and having a higher health pool before you die.

Here’s another idea, a new talent called Animal Companion. This allows you to summon a pet that replaces the eagle and it’s abilities, but reduces damage done by whatever percentage is needed to balance it out with the other changes.

Not necessary true. We don’t know Brann’s tank spec functionality yet, but that could be the case. I have a feeling the tank spec Brann isn’t just for healers though.

A higher effective health pool > 4% leech.

The blue post talks exclusively about providing him as an option for healers. That is clearly the intended use-case.

Doesn’t mean there won’t be use cases for other specs, but yes I’m seeing what you are referring to. Icy veins has a list of Brann’s tank abilities too.

Being alive thanks to self healing > being dead with a higher health pool.

Not to mention, the whole having a pet tank things drastically reduces the damage you take in general.

You’re underestimating how good 3% DR is. Higher effective health pool isn’t just what your HP is, it’s also all the mitigating factors like Devo Aura, which make each Health Point more valuable. Air Superiority is 3% DR which is part of the new Tenacity Talent.

Yeah, and in solo content you’re just going to die slightly slower. Having leech and a pet is significantly better.

There is… a solution. Blizzard gave it to us, they’re already using it, Warlocks are enjoying the benefits of it.

Grimoire of Sacrifice.

It’s so easy.
Call it, idk, “On the Prowl”. Toggle- sends your pet into the wilderness to stalk your foes. Enables your pet to Mark Targets, but disables pet functionality while active.
And every other change can go through unaltered.

I’m glad you said that. When in delves are you using a tenacity pet or ferocity pet? I can tell you as someone who played survival for the first season of TWW, I played a tenacity pet and was able to do Tier 11 delves with ease because of the dmg reduction ability my bear has. A small amount of leech ain’t keeping anything alive when damage reduction is going to save you from getting one shot.

Best idea I’ve seen. Nice! Have a toggle or talent to have just the spotter or just the pet. Not both.

I’ve done up to T11 so far with a ferocity pet.
