Class Tree feedback: (Last updated 1/26)
- Revise Roar of Sacrifice - Revise this talent to protect a target/party for 10% DR or the HP of our pet down to 1% HP - make it useful in PvE or move it to the PvP talents.
- Ghillie suit - Janky to play around with and should also allow us to camouflage in combat - mages already have this with their invisibility.
- Scare Beast - This node needs to be removed or replaced with something similar to Priest/DK’s ability to temporarily control a beast so it may see some usage in the future. It has 0 usage in PvE and very limited usage in PvP.
Class Raid Buff:
- Hunter’s Mark is underwhelming needs to increase the first and last 20% HP by 5% damage taken while applying a 40y radius debuff aura to make hunters more attractive for M+.
- Alternatively, an increased crit chance & damage 1h raid buff would synergize well with all 3 hunter specs decently.
Pack Leader:
- Shell Cover is still pretty awful; The alternative hunter hero trees have far better defensive node options. Shell Cover should block damage while at max health or do something else like grant 1% Damage Reduction per pet out + ~3% base Damage Reduction. What is the point of this talent activating after we already took a decent sized hit? Perhaps the talent can serve as a cheat death and only proccing if it would have killed us?
- No Mercy - A single pet auto every Kill Shot reset is embarrassingly weak for a hero talent, this should be changed to something more impactful. A bleed interaction with Kill Shot would be better.
- Better Together - This isn’t a hero talent, it’s a “placeholder node” that offers no actual value and should be baked into Howl of the Pack Leader or scrapped entirely.
- Description since it’s new: Howl of the Pack Leader’s cooldown is reduced to 25 seconds. Your pets gain an extra 5% of your attack power.
- Horsehair Tether should be in the class tree under Binding Shot - Hero Trees should absolutely NOT have utility and this rework seems like the start of a bad trend and sets precedent for other reworked hero trees to have utility.
- I suggested that Binding Shot did this “grouping to the center of the arrow” mechanic in the Beta feedback post several times so I’m glad to see it being implemented as Hunter gains group utility finally but not as a hero talent, please.
Sentinel:
- T̶h̶e̶ b̶i̶r̶d̶ c̶a̶n̶ f̶i̶n̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ f̶l̶y̶, The bird doesn’t exist anymore which is super disappointing considering that it’s on the artwork. Flying in a bigger circle works for me.
- A lunar storm every 30s instead of 15s is fine but it’s a damage loss and uptime loss. The current compensation for it should be a little bit better based on napkin math.
Survival:
- Mongoose bite is tuned too weak to be worth taking and is essentially a 2-point investment with Bloody Claws for pure single target due to Tip of The Spear requiring Kill Commands pretty much every other GCD. Buff Mongoose bite, keep Raptor Strike as is, or make it baseline for Survival while we’re still doing Survival tree changes.
- The Kill Shot amp on Born To Kill can rarely be taken advantage of and should apply Kill Shot’s bleed for a % of the damage dealt instead like the original Cull the Herd.
- Teir set feedback - I’m happy with the Survival 2p and 4p with the most recent changes.
Beast Mastery:
- Very odd choice implementing Beta feedback that only a tiny minority wanted for BM to have 1 pet instead of 2 which throws spec identity out the window. Not sure how the extra Beast Cleave range will be accounted for with 1 pet but I still see no reason to use 1 pet over 2 for that reason primarily.
- Please just stop trying to make Barrage work and scrap it, it’s a horrible talent that bad hunters take and pull whole rooms with.
- Teir set feedback: I personally will always enjoy when Beastial Wrath gets additional CDR and the set should feel good sending out free Barb Shots (and pet Stomps).
