I don’t know of any recent retribution nerfs, but it was already weak in PvP with me at the helm because a few outliers exist. It is certainly not my wish to see retribution nerfed more.
On the WW PTR we now have to choose between 40% DP or 20% DP and now 1.5m SoV. Crusader’s Reprieve was removed, which was basically all our passive self healing. Sanctified Plates shows less stamina in talent calculator, this may just be a tooltip problem. We also have no defensive power on Herald of the Sun hero tree. These things along with vers most likely becoming our worst stat is pushing Ret into being very squishy.
well that’s depressing. Warlocks, Mages, Monks, and Hunters are looking like good PvP options.
Since I finally can give feedback It feels super jarring to go up 90% haste in cooldown windows (radiant dawn with crusade + solar grace). Makes me hate being outside cooldowns like I’m less of a class. I don’t have a solution just saying it makes me feel like i swim in syrup when not in my cooldowns (which I’m in now for like 50% or more of the time.
edit: also don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet, but you don’t gain a crusade stack off the free divine purpose you get from Aurora
You get stack from HP spent for crusade, it’s consistent with the wording.
I understand that, I was just noting that it seems counter intuitive or bad that it doesn’t gain one from this specific proc that you can’t talent out of or avoid. thats all.
Why, isn’t how it worked before as well?
Why would you have expected it to work differently?
I don’t get it…
Beside, why use Crusade with Herald?
It’s DS and HoW DoT damage are tied to crit chances.
I get using it with Templar, with the “hammer machine gun” style that incentivize going ever faster for more stacks but it seems that Might synergise much more with Herald.
exactly, on live it gives you your stacks of crusade
Because its an option. Right now is about testing all the options and giving feedback. Crusade + faster ticking dots + a free 90% haste with like 50% uptime is fun?
IDK man not everything is about optimization, especially in beta. Its about feel, and ideas and the like. every class could be changed tomorrow.
this, tuning is irrelevant rn. play and test with how it feels instead
Ohh 100% agree.
If by comparison being in our normal rotation feels wrong because of how strong we get when we wake, then it’s an issue.
Hpal is officially DEAD in Arena. Thanks Blizz.
HPAL is officially dead in all forms of content. They just ended it. I’m so sick of these developers who clearly don’t play the game. They build it up to playable and kill it and for a person that loves the game and loves playing hpal its just awful. There is nothing we can do. They kill seasons at a time for us. I’m so upset.
Yeah bro, let’s just close out wallets, those devs should all be fired
dooming hard…
Rest in peace the paladins Retribution, they just killed us again, this thing about the fact that they are grateful for listening to the comments of the community and its a lie, if they had listened to us, they would never have given us a tremendous nerf, this is what they are going to do to him along with Their constant nerf series these days is crap Blizzard, once again you leave the class in the dark and completely dead, I no longer hit and I continue to die the same as always, tremendous nerf you gave us, don’t listen to people, this post that you invented It’s a lie that disgusts Blizzard!!!
simply brutal damage reduction in case 200% while other classes are just as broken, oops the DHs couldn’t cry because you fixed them after being broken for more than 7 consecutive years and you put us back into the eternal nerf what the f…!! Blizzard
Not Blizzard not!! just no!! You are making a mistake, you are making a tremendous mistake, these changes are absurd, what the hell is happening to these developers, are they blind??? I definitely feel that these Blizzards are stealing my money, they are making pure mistakes with the Paladin class, this generates frustration, anger, anger and anger, I am really quite angry at what they end up doing and intend to continue doing to the paladin, seriously why? They do not definitively eliminate this class from the game and we get rid of so much drama and stupidity if they hate us so much, I’m fed up!!!

humm…
It’s funny.
If you look at the updates concerning ret paladins (can’t really comment on Holy and Prot), the truth is that all the nerfs can be condensed. Such as…
- Final Verdict damage reduced by 10%.
- Templar’s Verdict damage reduced by 10%.
- Justicar’s Vengeance damage reduced by 10% and now heals for 3% of maximum health (was 5%).
…is really one spell that can be used. so in reality, although it looks like we received 10 nerfs, in reality it’s only 5 nerfs: FV, HoW, BoJ, Expurg and Crusader Strike.
We actually received more buffs than nerfs, such as:
-
Greater Judgment talent is now granted by default in the Class tree for Retribution.
-
Consecrated Blade is no longer a talent and now learned at level 11.
-
Word of Glory healing increased by 44%.
-
Blade of Vengeance damage increased by 25%.
-
Divine Storm damage increased by 25%.
-
Blessed Champion now deals 25% reduced damage to secondary targets (was 50% reduced damage) and is now a 1-point talent (was 2).
-
An issue causing Radiant Glory to not function with fast back to back procs has been resolved.
-
The following talents are now 2 points (was 1):
-
Heart of the Crusader
-
Zealot’s Fervor
Listening to other players here such as Benmarch, Greatbae, Eviaeline and others, I’ve come to the conclusion that the nerfs we received will most likely be made up by: leveling, gear, our Mastery, other Talent interactions and Hero Talents.
Examples would be BoJ and HoW. Yeah it sucks they got heavily nerfed, no doubt, but we’ll have a lot more access and usage to these spells than we normally would because of Talents such as Zealot’s Fervor and Radiant Glory.
Bottom line is I think we’ll be okay.
(Trying to be positive like my man Benmarch. By the Light, that dude sees the positive in everything)
Ahh yeah the mastery, I’d forgot about that.
You know when they changed it to give an additional 4% and added an effect to it?
Yeah, they didn’t tune any spell when they did that…
Which means that, since pretty much all our damage is now holy in some way, it was a 4% buff all around + the added benefit of the new effect.
If we were “balanced” before getting this, what does that make us after the update?
We got a straight up buff to our mastery and people didn’t expect this to come with a cost.
And honestly, I’m not even sure it much of a cost from where we were before the pre-patch and what it will be come Tuesday.
