I am consolidating my feedback for epic battlegrounds (as realize it is currently spread across several posts in this thread). I think these changes would make each map a more enjoyable experience in 9.0 or whatever the next content patch after this one is.
Alterac Valley
- Health and damage for Archdruid Renferal, Primalist Thurloga, Frostwolf Shaman and Druid of the Grove increased by 150%
- Archdruid Renferal and Primalist Thurloga should be immune to CC (too many times do I see them chain sapped so they don’t progress)
- Ivus the Forest Lord and Lok’holar the Ice Lord health and damage increased by 75% (the commanders have more health and damage than the ultimate units)
- Commander Duffy should return to Stormpike Graveyard as he is the only one missing
- Commanders should be immune to all forms of crowd control, pet taunts, and given a charge ability
Isle of Conquest
- Overlord Agmar and High Commander Wyrmbane should be immune to pet taunts
- Both generals should regenerate health while out of combat (1% every second?) to make wiping teams more effective (right now you have to spend way too long healing them up)
- The health of the gates could do with another bump to try and make game lengths more even between epic battlegrounds
Wintergrasp
- Broken Temple and Sunken Ring workshops should begin a match neutral, so as to split initial group zerg and to not give defense the inherent advantage of being able to build as soon as they rank
- The number of vehicles granted by keep workshops should be reduced to two, and the number of vehicles granted by out-of-keep workshops reduced to three (there are too many vehicles to players in battleground Wintergrasp)
- Vehicles should be buffed by 45% in health but damage done to players reduced by 30%
- Players that enter the battleground after 5 minutes of gameplay should be given rank 1
- Health of the southern towers should be significantly increased
Ashran
- After a lot of testing, it seems to me that Rylai Crestfall and Fangraal deal significantly less damage than their Horde counterparts.
— Fangraal’s damage seems high on damage meters because he pads by rooting high health NPCs (his roots do % based damage) but if we remove the roots on NPCs, his “special attack” is weaker than Kronus’s two.
— I suggest giving Fangraal this AoE Moonfire: https://www.wowhead.com/spell=22206/moonfire or this Starfall: https://www.wowhead.com/spell=20687/starfall given that Kronus has two special abilities (that each hit for more)

- Rylai Crestfall suffers from several things, but the short of it is that not a single one of her damaging abilities hits as hard as Jeron’s Living Bomb or Combustion Nova (and before people say “you can dispel or los”, the same counts for Rylai)
– Her ice shard deals no damage, whereas Jeron’s elementals do (and he can summon multiple, whereas there is only ever one ice shard)
– Jeron knocks his attackers off his tower whereas Rylai will polymorph her attackers and heal them to full

– This isn’t a huge problem but worth mentioning given they are worth 50 reinforcements.
- Backdooring should not be possible for either faction; the Gladiators should be given stealth detection as well as an increase in health and damage (and charge)
- A repeatable quest should be introduced to encourage players to stay for the entire game (as Ashran is on average longer than most epic battlegrounds):
Slay them All!
Kill 100 enemy players.
Reward: 200 honor, 10 conquest points
This would help encourage even losing teams to stay and fight, and assuming not everyone dies to players or in range, and people killing the mage guardians, the most either team will ever get is 20 conquest (which is a third of the daily win, so losers will feel better).
- I know you guys are working on it, but the lag really is a problem in Ashran - is there any update on supressing spell effects in mass environments? Or any update on investigating the problem?
- The player cooldown for special items (such as Scroll of Invoke Yu’lon, Nesingwary’s Lost Horn and Frost Wrym Egg) and LeBlanc’s Recorder should be reduced to 15 minutes. It’s not fun to loot one of the special items only to be able to use one per battle.
- The cast time for LeBlanc’s Recorder could do with a 50% reduction, I can very rarely get this off (and with the long cooldown, you only get one try).
- Summoning Kronus and Fangraal should increase the requirements for the next ancient by 50% each time (too many times do you see them go down only to be resummoned immediately) - would help spread people out as they farm more shards beyond the start.
General
- Deserter debuff should be reviewed for Epic Battlegrounds. The debuff is not a deterrent when an average game is 30-60+m and the penalty for leaving is 15 minutes.
I’ve never seen the bunker thing on horde or alliance.
Thank you Blizz. devs. for fixing the Ram Riders, and Wolf Riders quest pickup / turn in quest givers. They now work correctly, and do not automatically open the hunters stables when a player tries to pick up the quest.

Well there’s your problem. Doesn’t take standing in a bunker or tower to cap it, you have to assault it… I know this post is old though.
Done about 50+ queues for epic battlegrounds…
- Haven’t seen a single AV or IoC AT ALL
- Horde NPCs in Ashran still doing more damage than Alliance NPCs
- 27 STRAIGHT WINTERGRASPS WHERE ALLIANCE IS OFFENSE
I dont WANT AV guards and NPC’s to scale…
when i get to a point that I out gear them i should outgear them and kill them easier.
pop them at i lvl 400-410… and leave it.
Av is a myth even on horde havent seen 1 in months
I don’t want global warming to be a thing. It’s not going to happen for me.
Making things fair ruins the real difficulty. You want to be tagging next to the players seasoned in battle and fear what might attack you. Keep these “let’s make things fair” out of the battlegrounds. The first time I saw someone in full Conquest gear I was impressed. When you scale difficulty you diminish the hard work people put in for their gear. You diminish the fear people should have when they stand in front of a mob unseasoned and untested. They should get beat down and work hard to gear up for the battles.
Battlegrounds are useless in general until something is done to fix the 10% alliance winrate. Possibly allowing mercenary regardless of queue times.
Because going afk in BGs until you cap your conquest bar is suuuch hard work.
Fix faction balance. I have not won an Ashran yet. Horde constantly push ally back, ally gear is simply not catching up.
Just got out of one, Horde had 4 deaths total. 4. yes FOUR. Matchmaking is a joke.

Seems the tank’s, and wall cannon’s number “1” key / ability is now fixed. I have not had the issue where the tank or, wall cannon does not fire a projectile in a while. Hope this issue is finally resolved after many years of dealing with it. Keep up the good work Blizzard team!

New Ancient Artifact: Solar Sphere
- A new artifact of power has been discovered in Ashran’s underground mines—the Solar Sphere . The faction who captures its power will gain 20% haste while controlled.
- Many of the NPCs within the Road of Glory have been removed to improve performance.
- Fangraal and Kronus now cost 3,000 Artifact Fragments (was 300).
- Fangraal and Kronus now deal increased damage and have a new a melee cleave ability.
- The Reinforcement count has been reduced to 150 (was 300).
- Front Line Fortitude now increases health to all melee players and NPCs within the Road of Glory by 100% (was 30%).
- The Ancient Artifact now spawns after a player kills the Ancient Inferno rather than randomly spawning on the map.

Epic Wintergrasp
- Vehicles are no longer affected by movement slowing effects or roots.
- Damage done by Catapults has been slightly increased.
- The Siege Engine now has increased health.
- Mercenaries no longer benefit from the effects of Enlistment Bonus.
Personally I’m very excited with the changes, and new features. I can’t wait to test them out, and I look forward to more updates, and new additions to Epic Battlegrounds in the future.
