Thank you to everyone who has come out to help test!

I don’t know if it’s too late to suggest it but let’s see a timewalking raid with this event thanks. love you bye.

You want us to press our buttons for much longer during bossfights … for adventurer gear? You’ve got to be kidding.

I think the dungeons being changed to where you actually have to fight a bit is good, however that also means it’s going to take a lot more time for a large majority of groups to complete.

Maybe reduce the weekly quest for the piece of gear to 4 dungeons?

I’d also like to see the dungeon drops increased to be Veteran level. Adventure gear just feels so worthless so quickly for almost any level of player. Additionally at least Veteran track gear can be acquired for the Catalyst for transmog appearances.

Lolventurer gear. Why bother putting any loot in? No one wants that. You can literally farm handfuls of veteran gear by questing the hallowfall events, why would anyone want adventurer gear from dungeons that are actually too hard now?

This whole thing just screams the same trajectory we are seeing, a backslide into SL-mode.

REMOVE THE EYE MECHANIC FROM EYE OF SETHRALISS DUNGEON ASAP.

This bug happens to this day! It bricked many keys, and even current day transmog runs. Just open the final corridor by default and remove this buggy eye mechanic that falls through the floor. I don’t want to be raging about this during timewalking week saying I told you so when it keeps bricking timewalking runs…

Lol, just makes running twinks MORE mandatory once again, just like the 66% health buff did last time. Good luck being a non twink tank and getting vote kicked out and dungeon deserter for half an hour because people don’t want to spend 30 minutes per timewalking dungeon.

So I learned about these TW tweaks a day late and yeah, full on… NO ONE is running Timewalking as a “relevant challenge for relevant gear” from dungeon to dungeon. You sit down and do 5 dungeons that don’t “have the right to challenge” any more.

Tanks and healers don’t want to queue for wipe fests, and between that and the NPC health increase, the DPS queues will be abysmal.

That all said, this is absolutely a situation where the quiet part of the messaging is “dragonflight-to-TWW follower dungeons exist, queue timewalking to level at your own risk” for leveling, and “delves exist, queue at your own risk” for level capped characters.

“Play with friends or play alone” has been the WoW PVE battle cry since post-squish M+ has existed alongside delves, and now it’s come to timewalking, follower dungeons and leveling.

You don’t have to do timewalking to level, follower dungeons (and questing of course) exist. That’s the message here.

Don’t get me started on the badge income NERF.

Sad that this thread appears to be all criticizing the Timewalking change list with no indication that they playtested the changes on PTR.

But I don’t have much either. It’s hard to generate feedback when it’s so hard to make a group and the queue is the only way in.

I got a match randomly while looking at something else on a character I didn’t plan on doing timewalking. There were 3 twinks. The run was very fast, obviously. From the 11s idling around I’m guessing the few other groups that managed to fill were like that as well.

No idea how the changes will pan out for normal leveling players.

This is a really good point and a self perpetuating problem when you have veteran players that can spot a bad idea from a mile away, and don’t want to waste their time on it.

…Because yes, Timewalking has been here before, on the endless yo-yo between “it’s leveling content” and “it’s a challenge mode and also a level cap gearing lane, so must be relevant.”

You basically can’t balance those things. Leveling in modern WoW doesn’t really have the “right to challenge” people on their way to being “where they’re supposed to be:” at the level cap, and if you want to “inappropriately” gate rewards, people will do the effort math and nope out… as they have apparently done on the PTR.

You guys are delusional on why people are doing Timewalking Dungeons.
They are done to speed level mostly, and I mean mostly Alt characters.

New players are not stumbling in off the character select screen, and doing Timewalking to learn how to play their character.

Worst part is you now want these beyond Heroic difficulty, but offer garbage Adventurer gear during a time where there are 3 daily quests that offer Veteran track gear.

Another example of not knowing what your own community is doing.

So, I’m against the changes, and I’ve said that people don’t do timewalking “to be challenged,” and leveling doesn’t get to “stop you” and such…

But the game’s not obligated to provide a “speed leveling” lane, particularly one that’s interdependent, and where people of different priorities will be grouped together.

I just wanted to say that. They have provided follower dungeons, you can literally go at whatever pace you want, but the queued speed… they’re allowed to give it some direction.

I don’t think this is the correct direction, but there really isn’t a very good case for “Raaaaah give me speed leveling dungeons!”

I’ve done 5 runs now.

Twinks and other very low level characters took inordinately high damage. Standing in fires like Embalming Fluid killed in 4 ticks maybe. Hazards could kill from full HP. Twinks took such massive melee hits that I sometimes didn’t even see their HP move before they died.

Not nearly as dangerous for higher levels. Non-tanks pulled and tanked multiple packs of enemies at the same time just fine. I was also able to take hits very well in the low 70s range as cloth with the PTR’s default levelup test gear.

The eye transport section was changed. Now you just channel into the two eyes until they activate, then the mouth gate thing opens.

Philosophically, no. They’ve created a reward creep issue by handing out too much veteran gear, making any content that rewards less, irrelevant. They need to walk that back.

Also we need some kind of gear normalization back so TW difficulty is consistent.

Walking something back mid season makes zero sense.

I would argue that explorer gear just needs to be deleted with time walking/heroic dungeons providing veteran gear while world content provides a mix of adventure/veteran gear.

Given TW dungeons were originally supposed to be equivalent to hc dungeons, I don’t mind the change in difficulty and rewards. However, having it open to level 10+ is bizarre, it made some sense with the 20th Anniversary event, so everyone could join in with the event, but given we’re seeing low level twinks clearing them and the rewards being uninteresting for max levels, the change in difficulty doesn’t seem to be for anyone. Obviously there should be appropriate challenge with any content, yet TW is often used by people trying to level their characters or get gear ready for max level, I’m not saying it’s explicitly for speed levelling, but it certainly seems to be what it’s being primarily used for.

There’s also obviously farming for the Infinite Timereaver, which is nice for max level players to chase down as well, but for those who already have it, what does this event offer to them? Why not expand on this, say doing TBC TW gives a chance that a boss will drop the Eclipse Dragonhawk, rep tokens, cosmetic tmogs, toys, etc., with the vendors being more of a bad luck protection/quick way to get them.

Also let us do TW Chromie so we can do quests and world content that scales to our level for increased rep gains or something along those lines. :v:

If you are going to make the TW dungeons more difficult, then you need better gear to drop. The “new” gear you are offering is almost an insult.

Excellent ideas.
