I need to watch more of this, although I kind of got bored only a bit into Season 3 as it kind of seemed like they were treading a lot of the same ground as season 1. Also I get bored of “Cocky McNulty”… I enjoyed Season 2 because he was humbled a bit and now he’s back to his old antics and it kind of annoys me.
‘Anne with an E’ is probably the best TV I’ve seen in ages, and it’s almost criminal netflix cancelled it.
30 Rock and Frasier are my two favorite TV Shows. Shows I can watch on a loop, even though I know almost every episode - and I still laugh. Those shows are so well written, sometimes I catch a joke I missed. Sometimes, the jokes echo to today. 30 Rock had a lot of Hollywood rumors and inside jokes in it that gained more relevancy years later. Tracy Jordan yelling at Bill Cosby on the phone for something that Cosby did to his aunt, for example.
Eureka is something I’m currently rewatching. Fun and light.
The Expanse is good if you can manage to ignore some of the stupid science or lack thereof there. I found it good enough that I could forgive it.
If you hadn’t see Rome (from HBO) it was amazingly well done if rushed to an ending when it was cancelled.
The Orville, Loki and Umbrella Academy were all on my watch list…
What tv? They don’t have TV’s any more. They’re fancy monitors .
ads killed tv and nobody learnt anything from it apparently.
For me personally my all time favourites are Heroes and Surface
MASH* if you somehow haven’t seen it, is probably one of the greatest shows ever made.
But you asked for cultish and rare…
Underrated 1995 show Nowhere Man from UPN will always be a cult favorite of mine.
Battlestar Galactica (the Sci-Fi remake) is VERY good, as is Caprica a prequel
The League of Legends show Arcane on Netflix is extremely good.
Dead Like Me is a favorite of mine.
Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is a fun 2 season series about an MMORPG dev team that has to release the sequel to their hit game, and all the trouble they have to go through to pull it off. Things like adding a shovel to the game for digging, but having a crisis when they realize players could use it to dig holes in the shape of male body parts.
Of course if you never saw it, You could do worse than The Guild for some classic Felicia Day.
why pay for TV or the 600 different streaming services when you can just RP as the greatest pirate alive
All these streaming services are going to kill the industry as more and more people pirate because of all the exclusive TV. It worked when there was just big ones like Netflix but not anymore.
The last time i had any Tv was back in 1980’s and that was a given with truckers cb’s interference we had to give it up for cable( especial one trucker bombing the area for the fun of it jamming the signals to everyone ) .
Tbh, that’s what i always whine up doing. if you don’t have it dream it up and make a story out of it,sometime it is more entertaining than what you see.
Supernatural- Great series overall, some bad seasons and season plots here and there, stupid CW drama between the brothers time to time, but overall I loved it all.
Superman and Lois has been good thus far, two seasons in, better than some of the other CW superhero shows for sure.
Locke & Key on Netflix, second season out, planned for a third and done, so we know there is an end, unlike some of their shows they just cancel without warning(Raising Dion, grrr).
Agents of Shield was pretty solid, I forget if it’s on Disney Plus now or not.
DareDevil and Punsher were solid Marvel shows if you like action.
Rebooted Battlestar Galactica was pretty good.
Out of all of the Star Trek, The Next Generation is my favorite. First season is goofy, but once the actors start to mesh is gets good.
The Boys on Amazon if you are ok with superhero gore and language.
Doctor Who- from the 9th Doctor thru the 12th. Don’t hate the 13th but the writers really messed things up IMO. Old school DW is hard to find online without paying extra.
The Magicians- adult themes and about magic, if you dig it.
I’ve enjoyed lots of other sci fi and superhero type shows over the years as well, Eureka, Haven, Upload, Fringe, Travelers, Smallville, Legion, Humans, The OA, The 4400, Manifest, Dark, Altered Carbon, Dark Matter, Continuum, and probably others, haha.
South Park
X-Files
Forensic Files
Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Hoarders
Futurama
Judge Judy / Judy Justice
Honorable mention to my guilty pleasure: Big Bang Theory
Tell me about it. I really wanted to get into shows like Jupiter’s Legacy or New Amsterdam and then they go proof. And yet Kardashian gets 20 seasons.
And I LOVE supernatural, but there’s a point where you’ve exhausted everything
“I’d like to introduce you to my friend Buster. Mister Buster Rhymes.”
I don’t blame the networks for this, I blame the millions of people out there with absolute garbage taste in entertainment.
I was so stoked when HBO Max picked this show up. I haven’t watched it in 20 years. Just finished watching the one with Xorak’s nephew Raymond. Couldn’t stop laughing.
Zorak? I think it’s a Z.
Yeah it’s Zorak.
Adult Swim just started doing mini-episodes of Aqua Teen and others on Youtube as well.
They finally concluded the Hand-Bananna epic.
The 2000s remake of Battlestar Galactica is one of the best shows ever made imo.
I worry about future TV. Or rather I worry about how I will take an offensive attitude or have unacceptable standards toward future TV that will exceed what is “acceptable” today.
I can’t write exacy what I mean, but let’s just say…there will come a time when what used to be mature audience will be family primetime. And if you think it’ll never happen, I have some bad news.
I cannot even stand TV anymore. Warcraft lets me interact with my entertainment.
