oooh I forgot about Oddworld - such a fantastic game!
Abe was just the coolest imo.
I’m old and I was around when video game were brand new. My favorite that I still play now and then are:
Adventure (Atari 2600)
Advanced Dungeon & Dragons (both titles for Intellivision)
Phantasy Star 1, 2, and 4 (sorry 3 was just a bit off to me)
Metroid and Super Metroid
Original Zelda, Zelda 2, and Link to the Past
Blaster Master
Rygar
Final Fantasy (the first 6 for NES and SNES)
Dragon Warrior 1-4
Ultima games 1, 3, 5, and 7+SI the most
Dues Ex Human Revolution. Mankind Divided was such a let down.
MGS:V
Mass Effect 2.
CoD 2: The Big Red One
Sly Racoon 2 & 3.
Jak (& Daxter) 3
Ratchet & Clank (All the PS2 ones were phenomenal. Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal is probably my favorite game of all time)
Skyrim - I debate listing this but really, it was one of my first epic fantasy video-game experiences and I probably sank 500+ hours at least into it.
Skyrim, The Sims 2, GTA SA, Spyro 1 to 4, Red Dead Redemption 1, Hogwarts Legacy, Dying Light, Bully, Assassin’s Creed 2 to rev, Far cry 2 to 6, Cities Skyline, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2…
And uhh… Whatever’s on my PS2 list on here. Too many to list off.

Oh, Adventure. I might still have that Atari and cartridge in the basement.
I remember when my cousins got a video game console: Pong. We were so envious and looked forward to playing with them when we visited.
If we’re going to any video games, I have to add Battlezone at the arcades. Loved that game.
I made the mistake of attacking him once. And then another NPC to get the whole, you’re in a doomed world…restart.
Unless you knew about the dwarf with corprus
I forgot to add these to my list. I especially liked the third one.
Command and Conquer 3
Bloodborne
Mass Effect 3
StarCraft 2
Far Cry 3
God of War
For me “Perfect Dark” on N64 was an S-tier shooter that was years ahead of it’s time, the quality was on-par with Halo imo
“Conker’s Bad Fur Day” and “Donkey Kong 64” were also enjoyable from what I remember. All the “Banjo Kazooie” games were solid too
As for RTS, the 90’s-era “Red Alert 2” will always have a special place in my heart
…ditto for basically all the og/90’s-era Pokemon games
play red dead redemption 2
You just can’t have such a short list. It’s impossible if you’ve played a lot of games. There are countless of amazing games from the 80s and 90s. To be fair I’m more retro when it comes to those things but there have been so many great games released the last 10 or so years as well.
Some more recent games that I can think of right now: minecraft, rimworld, satisfactory, factorio, graveyard keeper, astroneer, stardew valley, baldur’s gate 3, the sims series.
I used to play a LOT of TF2 back in 2007-2012, thousands of hours and then they released a change that made me quit the game in one single day without ever looking back. No nerf or anything like that but they added matchmaking and it’s something I felt destroyed the spirit of the game.
I forgot to add this to my list! It was such a good game, the story was awesome, and the scenery was breathtaking.
Can’t go wrong with a game showing 5 “Not for Children!” messages on the box and another on startup.
yeah its so awesome
hmm of all time at the time… Morrrowind
long list …
Early R6 (Pre Siege)
DayZ
Early Doom
Early BF
Civ 1-4
ESO
Rift (rip)
Wildstar (rip)
GW2
BDO
Arcade games: Missile Command and Battle Tank come to mind.
I loved Syphon Filter and old Madden games on PS1. Madden '98 for the custom seasons with classic teams and you could let them self play.
Zelda: a link to the past
Metroid/Super Metroid
Stray
Gauntlet
Crono-trigger
Metal gear solid 2
The binding of isaac rebirth
Quake live
Sekiro shadows die twice
Dodonpachi dai ou jou
If youre tryna troll 24/7 hightower/harvest that community is still alive trust me.
Sometimes you gotta deal with ragers because you play pyro or scout but overall its just fun dming against decent players.
