Oh my goodness!! This sounds so amazing!! Blizzard really should make these characters, because that is the kind of story that should be told through like side quests during a faction war expansion, rather than doing none of that.
Twice.
EDIT: Like imagine if Blizzard already had these characters in BfA, which they obviously did not. Rather than further trashing Baine and making it some weird plot point that never got shown before in-game that he is super-close to Jaina, you could replace them both with these brand new never before introduced characters of Ji and Aysa who already have very close personal ties. Maybe, especially if we included in Jiâs backstory a previous very negative experience with Horde atrocities, like if say he were imprisoned and beaten by the Horde during the prior war, then maybe he could be the one to speak up about how wrong Sylvanasâs actions were. Maybe he could steal a Derek, contact Aysa to have her get Jaina, and then they could all meet up. Derek gets a Jaina reunion, Ji gets an Aysa reunion, Baine isnât so lame.
Man, if only these characters had already been madeâŠ
Axes are not quite arrows or bullets. How many you expect him to be able to carry? Unless they have Thorâs power of recall, heâs not getting them back unless he plays âCollect the ammoâ.
Hey now look, Nightsong. Iâm a mercenary. That red background behind my portrait? Just for show. Iâve worked with Tyrande, Malfurion and Velen more than some Horde leaders. Iâve stood by their side more times than Iâve even seen the honorable, noble, fierce warrior known as Ji Firepaw. And do you know why?
Money and presents.
What task do you need done? Need me to murder every gnoll? Collect a book from a table next to you? Cook a dinner, catch some fish, start a rebellion, lead an army into glorious battle, fetch you a weapon so you can throw it away when Helya scares you?
No problem. How much you paying and do I get a pretty new belt for it?
Whereâs the lie? Cause youâre not wrong at least within that small window of interaction.
Again, whereâs the lie? Weâve done questionable things from helping our enemies, to helping our alliesâ enemies. Iâm surprised they trust us to cook anything that couldnât otherwise be poisoned.
I need intel on what the Horde is planning. You are a bit less conspicuous than a Wildhammer Dwarf such as myself. lol.
Uh⊠Donât think ye want that on ya head if we just saved that damn weed from the firefly dragon only for it to turn into the next couple years supply oâ charcoal. Good try though Orc. Love the Cowl by the way, got one of me own in my closet.
What Dwarf doesnât love 'em some BBQ. What will ye be serving ta drink?
I do know that Xalâatath was freed from the Blade and now hosts a High Elf Body and is the main villain in the next expansion while the dagger itself is missing after the Nâzoth Raid. As for the other artifacts I have no idea.
Thatâs why I made sure my adamantine arrows in Pathfinder were durable arrows⊠those suckers are expensive! None of that âall that hit are destroyedâ nonsense for me!
I donât think Blizzard gave it much thought of where they would end up, outside of Xalâatath. Considering a large majority of them were just random weapons they made up for Legion. The only ones that existed prior in some way were
Doomhammer
Ashbringer
Blades of the Fallen Prince (originally Frostmourne)
Scythe of Elune
Gâhanir, The Mother Tree (weapon is a branch from Gâhanir, the first world tree)
Talonclaw (Huln Highmountains weapon)
Thasâdorah, Legacy of the Windrunners (Alleriaâs old bow)
Fu Zan, the Wandererâs Companion (Freyaâs walking stick she used during her travels around the newly ordered Azeroth)
Sheilun, Staff of the Mists (Emperor Shaohaoâs weapon)
The Silver Hand (weapon forged from Tyrâs silver hand)
The Kingslayers (the daggers Garona used to kill King Llane)
Scepter of Sargeras
Xalâatath, Blade of the Black Empire
Claws of Ursoc
Some of those I listed probably shouldnât be on the list given that the weapons themselves did not exist until Legion or Chronicles vol 1 at the latest. Even though the characters that originally used them did. Such as Talonclaw, Thasâdorah and even Xalâatath.
Some speculate that NâZoth played 4D chess & planned the dagger to fall into Wrathionâs hands, so that he could be out of his prison - yet not hunted, so they can go about their plans unchecked.
Such speculation led them to believe that when Wrathion stabbed NâZoth to open the way to the core, it actually sucked in the spirit of NâZoth & he left behind the grand magnitude of his power to puppeteer towards faking his death.
Personally Iâd love to hope thatâs true, since I believe the Old Gods should have their own expansion â not just some crumby end-patch from a mediocre expansion. Alas, I feel Blizzard arenât really capable of such tasteful writing to pull it off as NâZoth being secretly within the blade. lol
I honestly just donât want ever again the class hall narrstive of âyouâre our boss now, and you will get this super unique artifact and lead us to victoryâ.
Also, I hope to see the ashbringer being relevant again in the future.
