tank and healer ques are faster so leveling as dps times might vary.
Just do the story campaign for Legion, BfA, Shadowlands or DF, you’ll level up really fast and can stay in just one of those expansions for the entirety of the leveling range. Keep spamming Timewalking dungeons while you’re doing it to keep your gear updated.
The 5 hour thing is probably due to XP bonuses of seasonal stuff, Warmode and by already having 4 other characters at level 80.
I leveled from 70 - 80 very quickly in just over an hour via timewalking. By chance we had a twink in the party, so it was incredibly fast. We just kept queuing after every dungeon. it was awesomely fast.
Timewalking is fastest way to lvlin up in dps spec!

i know its irrelevant to the op’s question, but as someone that has 6 accounts and near 500 toons, the 3 fastest leveling methods the game as ever offered were:
3 - mop remix. i had a decked out toon there and would carry 2 more of my toons and 2 of my wife’s toons in dungeons and hit 70 within an hour or so.
2 - the war within pre-patch event. playing around an hour or 2 each day, i was able to take my 500-ish toons from various levels between 40-60 all the way to 70. when the event ended i had all my toons maxed to 70. just flying from objective to objective. gaining a level every 3-5mins.
1 - the fastest leveling wow has ever had was during wod. i multibox farmed near 1000 elixir of ancient knowledge from nagrand rares which grants 300% exp. then i refer a friend myself 4 times to get my 6 accounts for the refer a friend rewards which game 300% exp as well. heirlooms were still packing that 55% increase in exp. the garrison had the excess potion of accelerated learning which gave another 20% exp and then the darkmoon faire gave another 10%. this all stacked for 685% increase in exp. then i filled up my 6 accounts with toons. it would take me anywhere between 20-30mins to go from level 1 to level 100. and i would do this on 4 toons at a time. could of done 6 at a time but pc would of burnt down. i still have a few stacks of greyed out elixir of ancient knowledges in my bank lol.
as for right now in regards to op’s question. i would say as others said, just timewalking and hope you get a level 11 monk or warrior and you will fly to 80 in no time.
Oh simple Credit card , buy level up boost , then buy tokens to buy power level boosts 
i wish we could gift boosts. each of my accounts got 2 and some got 3 boosts just sitting there from this xpac and df and sl from xpac purchase i still never used lol.
