Partially because set bonuses no longer were aimed at just 1 of the 3 specs. I have my moonkin in classic that is using mostly blue gear because the only gear better then it is some of the most coveted gear in the game. Also the sets only add +healing and no hit and very little crit.

JK I feel you 100%
Pretty bold of you to speak in the place of my friends and guildies.
Please send me all your gold and cloth please. k thanks.
‘It’s become more mechanics than gameplay’- damn dude true
ive unsubbed too- REALLY agreed with the dance dance revolution thing raiding just feels more painful then rewarding
Why do people make these embarrassing threads only to come back less than a year later?
The issue now is
The vault is THE WAY to gear up now.
Just do the bare minimum to fill in those check boxes to be eligible then don’t log in.
No matter how many m+ I do, raiding, only pvp seems to be a logical gearing system.
They gutted m+ gearing and raiding barely drops anything.
The vault however will give you a few choices.
The writing is obvious. They want you to get 1 upgrade a week. Add in rng and it’ll take you forever to hit your BIS unless you’re literally no lifing it and doing CE content. By the time you start to fill out the next tier will arrive and it’ll be worthless again.
To me the design and intent is clear. It’s no longer about how to deliver the most engaging content, it’s about how to milk subs as a priority.
Milking male tauren seems like an unintended consequence Blizzard hadn’t thought of.
Yep these nips ain’t ready for that.
Ever
DPS Warriors were the flavor in Classic. On TBC, they became GARBAGE as they cant Tank anymore on DPS specs. But Paly and Druids got their wish for Tanking. So WoW was like this on every expansion… Some Classes/Specs were highlighted but some were stomped. It’s always like this. There are no Classes that stay on top on every expansion. Blizz caters all kinds of players and players have wishes. Blizzard cant satisfy everyone. And that’s a fact.
I think every Class can move and cast. But there are some Classes who are more mobile but you cant really see them getting the advantage becoz their DPS is adjusted. Like MM Hunter who cant move that much and a BM who can pew pew while dancing but BM’s DPS on logs are LOL.
We have options… tons of options right now. But if you want to be the BEST, you would do ALL THE OPTIONS available. If you want to RAID, just RAID. But if you want to be the BEST RAIDER, you wont just RAID, you would do M+ and get your BIS legendary from Torghast (which is not much as yo dont need ilevel 235 legendaries to be on top of the leaderboard) and even do PVP to fill up all the options of your Weekly Vault so you would have better chance of getting the best gear.
We’re paying for WoW… the best MMO out there 15 years ago and arguably still the best 15 years later. Different systems are set for each expansion to differ them from old expansion. What system is perfect for you? System with no Borrowed Power? That’s BORING to me. I will give you a sample. Zinrokh, Destroyer of Worlds… 2H Sword. It was a great weapon. But when you put Twilight Devastation Corruption like on BFA Season 3, it made the weapon way way more exciting. It was a great experience. Sorry plain stats is old and dull to me.
Your view of fun is different. I regarded BFA a very good expansion though not the best. On Shadowlands, I am having a Blast so far.
You’re min-maxing there. Read my explanations below that post. Everyone could do everything. I didn’t say every class shone, I said every spec was -viable-. You could level as Marksman, Survival, or BM.
You could -play- Shadow priests. You could -play- boomkins. You could -play- demonology.
The rest is just opinions from down below to reply to. I don’t necessarily agree with your opinions, but I won’t disagree with your right to have them.
I just want to say, another OG WoW player leaving is disheartening, been playing since 2004 aswell…
Shadowlands has been the biggest dissapointment ever…that fresh expansion feel died within 4 days when I realised everything they have implemented was to actually delay me from progress.
I hope to see you back one day, maybe when things change, but if not their are other great mmos out their and new ones coming… personally excited for Ashes of Creation (I’m in the alpha, it’s Friggen AMAZING), and the new lord of the rings one in the works.
It’s just a chance to find new horizons.
This is the most ridiculous thing about this expansion. Literally no reason to slowly unlock the story other than to keep people coming back, for the wrong reasons.
The time gated content/progression bothers me the most out of all things, then the lack of balance with classes and covenant disparity is another and last is not feeling like my time spent is being rewarded fairly(Mythic + & 35 anima/no loot). I love this game so much, however with the state of the game it doesn’t provide the same magic it once did. Also I understand the game has only been out for a few weeks, however the amount of bugs and things not working how they are suppose to is becoming restless. Hopefully the developers sort this out soon.
So now people have realized this and QUIT EARLY in the EXPAC. Then come back like 2 months before the next EXPAC.
You save 15$x20 months and gain all the story back with all the gear.
My god, Yakuza games are pure magic.
Ooo I want to hear about this. How’s it going?
Well, I would argue that Conduits are actually much more limited / limiting than Azerite Powers.
It’s still an artificial system which supplants actual skill at playing your class. Collect the right Azerite/Conduits and you’ve got a nice boost above others who play correctly but maybe haven’t been quite so lucky with drops.
I mean… Yeah. There is some RNG in the game. You try to get this weapon or that cloak. Granted. But my point remains: this is another layer of artificialness which imparts special advantages to those who can either find a consistent set of friends to run with (which is a lot harder these days than it used to be!) or who are willing to pay huge sums of gold/real world money to get run through things.
